New quest pro controller update

I don’t know if there was an update for the oculus pro controllers or not or if this is a glitch, but for the last two days my oculus has said my controllers need an update and the update is starting but the update won’t start and just continues to say update starting. I have restarted my controllers and have unpaired them and repaired them and nothing seems to work I’ve even powered off my headset and restarted my headset.

I’m and a few others having same issue, might be an update to headset has stuffed up pro controller use, I have put my quest 2 controllers back on and work fine.

Same for me. Whenever I turn on the controllers, the "controller update starting" notification appears in the notification center. When re-pairing using the mobile app, the firmware update appears to complete.

If I enter passthrough mode, the controllers still rotate and whatnot along with my hands, but the VR controller images never center onto the controllers in the camera view. They used to before the update. Also, if I hold my arms completely still and turn my head side to side, the VR controller images move from side to side as well.

The controller firmware version in the mobile app shows 1.25.2.

Having the same exact problem. Meta appears to have rolled out a Quest 2 update without confirming Pro Controllers compatibility. Please fix asap, Meta!

Hi there everyone, we see you are all having issues with your Meta Quest Touch Pro Controllers not functioning as intended after an update. We understand that this is affecting your ability to play your games in VR, and we want to do all that we can possible to assist everyone.

Can everyone please try power cycling the controllers:

  1. Try rebooting the controller by holding down the Oculus/Menu button until you see the lights change.
    • This usually takes about 20 seconds. You should feel the "powering down" haptics, followed by the "powering up" haptics before releasing the button.
  2. If still not working, press Oculus or Menu button to ensure the controller is awake and flashing S.O.S. on the LED. The S.O.S. mode will blink in white with the S.O.S. pattern (3 quick blinks, 3 slow blinks, 3 quick blinks).
  3. Restart the HMD via long-pressing the power button until the Power Menu comes up. Use the Gaze Cursor to select Reboot.

If that doesn't help, last resort would be factory resetting the controllers:

  1. Right Controller: Hold A and Oculus buttons until the LED begins flashing red/white.
Left Controller: Hold X and Menu buttons until the LED begins flashing red/white.
  2. Release the buttons immediately after the LED begins blinking red/white.
  3. Perform a manual pairing and check if controller LED would flash blue and white to signal pairing state.
  4. Once paired, controllers may take a while to update and stay unresponsive until they finish, and LED would be purple during the update.

Please let us know if any issue is persisting after the factory reset.

Hello,

I did all these steps and even factory reset my Quest 2. It didn't solve the issue at all.

Hi there @Loki__VR, since you are having this controller issue as well, we'll need to look into your issue deeper, and we might require some sensitive information. Can you please PM us so that we can get the next process started for you?

Hi, what is "the next process" exactly? I've already factory reset both my controllers AND my headset, unpaired / paired my controllers a dozen times, reboot my headset at least 30 times, so... I'm curious about what else could be done on my end. I think nothing.

Please just fix your v57 update ASAP so we can use these 350€ controllers like we should.

OMG it's not just me having this problem, I've been trying to fix it for the last 2 hours and finally found people talking about this. Apparently this is still broken because my pro controllers are completely unusable with my Quest 2 now. Please fix!!!!!!

I was trying to fix this for hours last night and came across this thread from last month

This is exactly the problem I am having, it always says "Updating firmware" but never updates it, I've tried every troubleshooting tip in that thread multiple times. When the controllers are paired they don't detect any vertical or back and forth depth. Only some rotations of the wrist but that throws them off, it's like they are stuck to my chest almost.

Is there any update on how to fix this? I don't see people talking about it anymore so what am I missing? Thanks
