Zeltrax

Just updated my headset and started using my link cable which is perfectly fine and now the stream quality is weird and bad. Ask 2 other friends to update theres and they have the same brand cable and are having the same issue.

I see other posts about this and i hope it get resolved and not swept under the covers like most issues.

@Zeltrax Hmm, okay. Thanks for that insight. Just to confirm, are you and your friends PC's fully compatible with the current Link requirements

Have you tried to update your GPU or Windows version already by chance?

You could also try a clean install of the software:

  1. Disconnect the Link cable from the computer.
  2. Disconnect your computer from the internet.
  3. Backup any necessary content.
  4. Reboot into Safe Mode.
  5. Uninstall Oculus PC app using the Control Panel.
  6. Delete all Oculus folders from the following folder:
    • C:\Program Files
  7. Remove any Oculus folders from the following locations:
    • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData
    • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Local
    • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\LocalLow
    • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Roaming
    • C:\OculusSetup-DownloadCache
  8. Restart your computer in normal mode.
  9. Reconnect your computer to the internet.
  10. Install Oculus PC app again using the setup tool from our website here.
  11. Reconnect the Link cable and re-test the headset.

Let me know if this helps or not! 🙂

@Zeltrax I do want to jump in here and hopefully add a bit of insight on the issue.

When it comes to third party accessories, there's really no telling how long/if they will typically work. I would suggest probably testing a different cable, whether it be the official cable or another third party.

Not the cable's fault, as I said 2 other friends with the same cable are having the same issue. I'm seeing reports of other users complaining about the same thing. It's like they have lowered the default bitrate or something.

My cable is brand new only been used a handful of times. I've tested other type C cables and they also have the same issue.
