It is telling that the survey I was invited to a few moments ago crashed.
I find everything very complicated. Why? Why does it have to be so difficult? I need to switch between headset and PC, I need to enter 50 million captchas and security responses - even though I responded a few seconds ago. This is not critical of people in the forum here, but the people at Meta who come up with this.
Why can't I simply attach a headset as an additional monitor? Why does it take so many programs to simply connect a headset and run games on it?
Why can't I find a game I just purchased?
Why can't I see what ID is used with which program instead of endless error messages and I have no clue why. Until I find out that SteamVR was logged into a different account and had not been closed properly. Why?!
I find this highly unnecessary in 2025.
My current problem: where do games get saved that I buy on Quest? Can I copy it somewhere so it gets recognised automatically or do I need to install yet another program to integrate the game first?
Thank you for the community where people help others like me who are totally lost when the programmers of the setup can't provide an intuitive methodology.

If you*ve bought the game for Quest(standalone), look in the store - either in the mobile app or in the store in the headset - for the game, it should show you the get/install button.
If you bought a game for pc(linked with your Quest), open the Meta link app on pc, look in this store for the game and click the install button.
After games are installed once from the store, you can find them in your library and can uninstall/reinstall them from there.
You have two libraries, one on the headset and one on pc. You can't see your pc library when you play the Quest standalone and you can't see your standalone library when you are linked to pc.

Hi @AnankePL 🙂
My current problem: where do games get saved that I buy on Quest? Can I copy it somewhere so it gets recognised automatically or do I need to install yet another program to integrate the game first?
Since you mentioned steam vr, I guess you want play pcvr?
If you buy a game for Quest, you purchase the Quest version of the game. This version can only be played when you use the Quest standalone(not linked to pc). You can not install those games on pc, only on your Quest. Quest games and PCVR games have different systems. Quest - Android, PC - Windows.
There are two Meta stores, one for Quest games and the other for pc games. You can switch between them in the mobile app and in the web store.
Some of the games are cross buy, that means, if you buy the Quest version you'll get the pc version for free and vice versa.
These games will give you the get/install button in the pc app instead of the purchase button.
You need the Meta link app to install pcvr games.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I understand that Quest and Steam are different platforms and yes, I intend to play on both.
Here, my question was specifically for Quest VR, since I am new and have no clue where things go.
Yes, I bought the game, a VR game, on the VR section, paid for it and downloaded it. It has disappeared.
That is why I am wondering if I need to find and copy it to a location where it will be picked up by the library or what the process is.
Thank you for your help.

I didn't mean Steam and Quest.
I mean Meta has Quest games and PCVR games too and you can switch between the Meta stores.
Anyway, if i understand you correctly, you bought the game on Steam? Is that right?
This game will not shown up in your Quest library. Here can you only see your Quest - standalone games.
The game is in your steam library.
You must link your Quest to pc....either with the Meta link app(must be installed on your pc)
or you use Steam link(must be installed on your Quest)...... maybe a bit easier to use for you, you just can start steam link from your Quest library.

After linking your Quest, click on your (steam) library and you can start the game.

Ah, now I see it. So it's not lost. I still don't know where to find it on the drives, but at least it's there in the headset. Which is empty now and requires charging.
Now I need to find out how to integrate it into the library.
Thanks for your help. Which is, again, complicated, but it works.

.... I still don't know where to find it on the drives
If you haven't changed the default settings in the pc app, the location is C - Program Files - Oculus - Software - Software - name of publisher/game.
Now I need to find out how to integrate it into the library.
I said how to integrate it to your library.....open the pc app(you can open it without the headset)go to the store in this app, click the "install" button and it will appear in your library on pc
You don't need the path where the games are saved on your pc to do that.
