No Battery Indicator or Warnings on my Quest 2 After v67 Update.

After update v67 the battery indicator and low battery warnings are not working on my Quest 2.

After a 80-minutes long wired Link session, I was surprised to see the battery still at 100% but, after turning off the unit, the battery began charging and it reported the actual charge level, which was 16%.

I didn't receive the usual low battery warning at around 25% and today the issue repeated itself, with the Quest 2 reporting 100% charge after more than 1 hour of usage, until I turned it off and once again the actual level was under 20%.

I'm curious which firmware you were on before updating ?

I have the same issue but I am still uncertain if it's a firmware or software issue or it's just the battery degrading over time...

Here is an really annoying "FIX" the battery jump every 10 minutes to 100% to recalibrate it you will have to put the headset to sleep, just press the power button and wait 10 secs then press it again it will take few seconds for the battery to recalibrate.

It would be nice if META can do something for it to auto recalibrate because doing this every 10 minutes is annoying.

I am pretty sure the issue began after updating from v66 to v67.

I didn't use my Quest 2 for about a month prior to updating to v66, I received v67 a few days after updating to v67.

Just an update:

I installed version 68 today and the issue persists.

I have sent in another bug report through the bug reporting tool of the Quest 2, if there are other users affected by this bug I would suggest you to do the same.

It seems like Meta and Meta Quest support don't care. I've provided all the necessary information about the issue, but either they have no way to contact the engineering team, or they simply don't care about it—or about the many others experiencing the same problem. If I could fly to Meta with my headset and sit down with just one engineer to explain what's happening and what's causing it, the issue would be fixed in the next update. But what else can I do?

Hey y'all! I'd recommend updating to the PTC to see if the issue is resolved. The PTC is currently on v69 and has brought about a lot of bug fixes for previous issues that have been noticed by the engineering team. Thanks, @Artins, for submitting the Bug report when you did, they really help out engineers know what kind of issues our community is having! Please let me know once you have tried the PTC update and whether or not the update had the fix to this issue. You can find more information on how to join the PTC here: Meta Quest PTC! I hope this helps, and I look forward to hearing back from everyone!

The problem persisted in version 69, today I received version 71 and the issue hasn't been resolved yet. The behavior is exactly the same, with the battery indicator stuck at 100% even while the battery has actually been depleted, and low battery warnings not working.

Sending the device to sleep updates the battery to the correct level.

I have sent a bug report on version 69 using the bug reporting tool available in the Quest 2 interface and I did the same again today in version 71.

It would be great if someone on the development team could look into this, this issue will certainly lead to dead batteries due to the lack of low battery warning messages and excessive battery drain., known to kill lithium batteries.

I believe this was their intention to degrade the battery life of a fully functional Quest 2's. It's been 8 months since I first posted about this issue, and they don't seem to be working on a fix.

Today I updated to version 72, the issue persists.
