Hello! I want to sell my Quest 2 (quite new) to a friend and did a factory reset in iOS app without any problem. Now I see my device in https://secure.oculus.com/my/devices/ and there is no option to remove it! How to do so and is there a problem for my friend to use that device? 😞 Thank you very much for you help!

I don't want a warranty. I don't want to sell my favorite device. My Oculus go works perfectly. But after a factory reset, I can't launch it.

Alright, thank you for clarifying on that, @jew777. So this is a very different issue than what this thread is about. Now that we're on the same page, we'd recommend reaching out to Meta Store Support for further assistance. If your device won't turn on and factory resets aren't helping, you'll want to speak with them for further assistance.

I’m having the same problem, but my situation was with a defective Quest 2 headset that was returned to Meta. No new user is likely to activate or use this headset and it’s still showing up in my IOS App as well as on the web page for My Devices. I too get the same error when I try the delete button on the website: “An operation was requested for an unknown or inaccessible device. Please ensure the device exists and try again later.” If you want to keep a list of activations, call it an Activation History. When you call it “My Devices,” it is confusing and makes people think this is a list of all your active devices. From a security perspective, I’m also concerned that my account is still linked to this device even though it’s no longer in my possession.

Hey there, @GelatoJunkie. We can definitely understand your concern, but we assure you there's nothing to worry about! The headset will remove itself automatically after some time, whether that be due to enough time passing or it becoming a refurbished headset that someone else ends up using. It won't cause any issues for the headset to be on your account in the meantime, though! Hopefully this helps!

I returned my headset to Target, and their policy is to throw away returned devices, so it will never be activated by someone else. So how else can I remove my old device from my account, so I don't see it on my Oculus app?

Hey there, @GhostSpookies! I found a thread on the forums that talks about this same issue, and it looks like they were able to remove their devices by clicking this link to your Meta account. Under devices on the left side of the page, you click on the button that says Delete Device Info. This should remove the device from your app. Hope this info helps!

I bought and returned my quest 2 a year ago and it is still on my app. I have removed it from my account via the link as well. How long does it take to fall off my device list… 2 or 3 years?

Thanks for reaching out to us, @EnderWigin! There's a variety of factors that determine how long it takes for a device to fall off an account. However, the most common way is for a new user to activate the device. We can definitely understand your concern, but we assure you there's nothing to worry about! The headset will remove itself automatically after some time, whether that is due to enough time passing or it becoming a refurbished headset that someone else ends up using. It won't cause any issues for the headset to be on your account in the meantime, though! Hopefully, this helps!

Thanks for the link. Alas, it's been over a year since I returned my defective Quest 2 to Meta and I still have it showing up on my account. I tried using this link to "Delete Device Data" and it just results in an error: "An operation was requested for an unknown or inaccessible device. Please ensure the device exists and try again later."
