Hi,

As a conversation here: https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/1e6lq00/comment/lecf5bu/

we have broken code in v68. How quick can we have an update from Oculus?

I know openXR is not at fault and i was looking at the same headset but instead went for this "thing" because my daughter likes those little games that run from it.

No i can't play anything without openXR because the framerate is abismal, i just tried doing a race with native oculus and my head is still dizzy plus downgrading the resolution is also not worth it.

Hard pass on the quest for PCVR sim activity.

Since I updated Meta Quest Link to V68, both DCS and MSFS give me CTD (even not in VR).
I uninstalled all Oculus soft, and I was able to play MSFS without any problem.
I reinstalled the Oculus software, and it was working fine, but it forced me to update to V68, and now MSFS is giving CTD again...
It seems that this is a known issue, and still the update has been released without any possibility to rollback.
I would really like to be able to play NONE VR game withouth having to uninstall Oculus everytimes... Really.

Yeah so I bought my quest 3 on a bit of a whim cos I saw one discounted.  Frankly I am using it as a learning experience. I too only do pcvr. USB simply doesn’t have the bandwidth and really needs dp. Infact the quest 3 does not seem to be able to be able negiotiate the higher speeds of  usb 3.2 gen 1 - so I suspect a hardware limitation in the headset of usb version.  There is also a bug in their drivers - going into dcs it’s rock solid then I get lag and image tearing between the left / right views - stabilising if I do t move my head - now initially I thought just too much data but I noticed quitting  dcs it was still present when viewing my pc desktop via rift link - so disable rift link - re enable it and open desktop - rock solid again go back into dcs having made no changes - it’s rock solid doing exact same mission - then some random time later could be 2 mins could be 30 min  even an hour problem returns - and I mentioned this to support - they suggested setting the priority higher of the oculus server and having done that - still get the issue.

So I think it’s time to save up my pennies for a pimax crystal light

FYI if you set Steam VR as the default OpenXR runtime you can use OpenXR Toolkit for games like iRacing and use Fov rendering and post-processing. There's a small performace hit but it still runs better than the Oculus runtime imo.

Uninstalled OpenXR toolkit, and DCS works like a charm. Thx guy's 😄

**bleep**.. this is really annoying.  how long until v69 is released??

It could be because they are completely indifferent to the needs of a large swathe of customers.  As my grandmother used to say, never trust a business whose owner has a haircut like a roofing nail.  Smart woman.

@Squirrel_SA you are correct, it is possible but a bit clunky. I had to go down a weird route of setting SteamVR as OpenXR, installing the OpenComposite DLL (doing this for ACC btw) along with some other random changes of OpenXR setting via OpenComposite exe. But did get it working, yes there is a performance hit and it's not quite as smooth as just using Oculus, OpenComposite (to override SteamVR) and OpenXR Toolkit.

Performance is worse at race start, but settles during lap 1. OpenXR Toolkit shows a lower GPU headroom by 5-10%, but hitting 72Hz refresh mostly, so workable until META fix their software.

not true for all Gomes eg I know it doesn't matter what you do for euro truck simulator or ams it's just won't work in openxr or open vr toolkit or not

Hey everyone! Thanks for taking the time to bring this to us on the forums. I noticed there were multiple threads and I thought it'd be easier to have it all in one place so I went ahead and put them together.

I'd be more than happy to bring this to our internal team for their further review and look into things, but I want to make sure I have the right info to take to them:

  1. Which headset are you using?
  2. What apps are you noticing issues with?
  3. What version is your Meta Quest app running?
  4. What troubleshooting has been attempted already?
  5. Any Screenshots or videos of the issue?
    • Note: If sharing a video, its best to post to YouTube publicly so that our internal team has access to it.
  6. What's the full version number of your PC app? (68.0.0.####### or likewise)
    • General > Scroll down to the bottom of the page.
  7. Is your PC app on PTC?
  8. Any potential workarounds?

Thanks again!
