I have typed my phone number in correctly many times when it prompted me to, but whenever it said it was sending the code to my phone that I needed complete setting up two factor authentication it would never send. No matter how many times I've tried or other ways I typed my phone number, I would never receive the code. Setting up 2FA with my authenticator app worked fine but for some reason I'm still not able to create an organization to enable Dev Mode on my Quest 2. Do I need both my phone and my Authenticator app linked in order to be verified and gain access to creating an organization and entering Dev Mode on my Quest 2?

2FA SMS should be resolved on their end since it might be something to do with authorization and permissions with phone providers outside US.
But the other problem is "locking" the developer mode as they do (Meta support advice to use other methods other than SMS 2FA, but it should be my right to have a fundamental security tool available and working on my number, not having to change number or using the number of another person wich contradict the security measure; also other users said registering a credit card doesen't work).
In most android phones you can enable developer mode with all its tools and benefits from the get go without problems.
Especially now that they annouced the "open OS route" they should focus on those things too.

Did anyone manage to sort this out. I PM'd the support and they gave me a link to this thread......where people still need help. Support from Meta is terrible

Just to let people know I have tried the 2fa again on the meta app on mobile and it now seems to work.

Nope.. I contacted Meta 3-4months ago, lots of going back and forth, no help at all and they blamed my mobile provider (EE in the UK), which is rubbish because my wife is with the same provider and using her number the message comes through.
EE investigated this for weeks and just told me that it is not from their end and that it's from Meta, so back to them again.
Of note my number used to get all the messages with no issues, until meta decided to close my FB account (which was linked to the same mobile number) without any reason and despite sending my IDs repeatedly to confirm my account. Now and ever since the FB account was shut, my number no longer received anything from Meta and there is no way that I am going to get a new number just because of their incompetent C/S.. I had this number for over 15yrs!

Don't listen to Meta, they talk nonsense. They told me the same thing re: my number that used to get their messages until they decided to shut my FB account which also happened to have the same mobile number and ever since they did that I am unable to get any messages.
When I got in touch with them they blamed my mobile provider (EE) and asked me to try a different number, which I did and it worked! but guess what, it was with EE as well! so what does that tell you?
At least EE had the decency to escalate this and investigate it for weeks before they confirmed it wasn't from their end. Whereas all Meta do, is just sending you the same message replies to rate them up and they seem to be clueless about whats going on. I mean they don't even have a telephone number or a specialised team to investigate these matters. Probably chatting to AI would be more productive than Meta's chat

Hey @noview, we just saw your pm, and we will be working with you over there. We hope you have a great day!

@m0rph3u5_ Usually the first messages they send you are so scripted, and sometimes respond you so out of touch of what you asked that i wouldn't be surprised if its actually an AI to better identify the problem and route you to a more specialized support.

Good morning, I know this thread is a little old but I've been trying to verify my cell phone number in Meta for Developers for two days and in no way have I received the SMS with the code.
As I read, the solution would be to not use a VPN or an incognito window in my browser. Well, I'm not using any of that, I've tried Chrome and Firefox and two different internet connections but without any success.
Could you please help me?
Thank you so much!

I'm in the same boat as Carloshp2811. No VPN and no incognito window in Chrome. Somebody please reach out again to assist.
