Hello

Since last night, Oculus took an update and now i've got a message about not working without Windows 10.
Launcher still here but when i put the headset on, it doesnt switch on. Got some messages like "your oculus software may be updating" or "Cannot run this program without oculus rift". Did i just loose 500$ after 1 month of playing ?

 Thanks

A lot of users who have less than 120gb( I think I recall ) free space available on the drive where the oculus software is, gets similar errors.
Check your drive and free up space. Hope that will work out for the better.

It should still be working. However, you may have to do a repair install (just run the setup installer again and choose repair). Also, if you're on Nvidia, revert to the 388.71 drivers (newer ones may not work). Also, sometimes re-plugging the HDMI cable and switching USB ports can help.

Thanks for your messages. I did kind of everything of it before calling help...
Trying to repair install, didn't work neither.
I uninstall all and now reinstall all, even on a new disk with free space and guess what : i've got "restart your computer" page, with a message telling me that something get wrong. So I can't use Oculus anymore 😄
Perfect.

Fine, i will open a ticket.
But it will be complicated to send logs as I can't install anymore the software so I've got no Oculus folder anymore 😞

Holy crap, @cybereality is this true?  Does Oculus need to use 120 GB of HD space as Cache to run games?!  This can not be true is it?!  If so that's absolutely ridiculous and there should be standards in place to put a little more optimization into these games.

It should still create logs on a failed install, the logs will record where the error occurred that brings up that screen you keep seeing.

The 120GB of free space is the storage used for games. Since games can be up to 30 or 40GB each, this gives you space for a few games.

The setup log will exist even if the install fails.
