Hi! I'm new here. Just a quick question. I plan on getting an oculus  at some point in the future.
I'm just trying to determine what upgrades I'll need.
I have an amd 6-core @3.5, 8gb ram... hopefully those should be ok.... and an Nvidia 750 TI

My big questions is.... would it be smarter to get another 750 TI for SLI considering price? Or will that not work? Should I instead just get a 900 series card?

I'd appreciate any input. Thanks!

You'll need a much beefier card. At this point you might as well wait for Polaris and Pascal though. You'll want to of that CPU as well

No, 750 Ti is not enough. I'd recommend a GTX 970.

Man, the same pain is totally felt here. Core i7 + 16 GB of RAM here, but coupled with a 750 Ti. My pre-ordered Rift hasn't been shipped yet, but I thought again about it and finally decided to get a GTX 980, and for that I've also got to replace the rig's power supply. Hope this investment is worth it...

But having 2 750ti's still wouldn't cut it??? That really surprises me because its great card.

Sli doesn't work well with VR first off. Second, two 750 Ti's would still be too weak

The 750Ti is about 2/3 of the performance of the GTX660 that I just replaced with a GTX970. The 970 is about twice the performance of the 660, so your 750 is about 1/3 of the minimum recommended performance for CV1 games.

Tom's Hardware has a review where they tested GTX960 and up, and even the 960 can't get decent framerates in some VR games, while it does OK in others. From their numbers, the 970 really does seen the minimum required to consistently give a good experience.
