So, like many other people (I've noticed), I have a MSI Katana i7-11800H Nvidia GEFORCE RTX 3050Ti laptop. I've tried every suggestion that I've seen; restarting both the laptop and the Quest 2, disabling the integrated graphics card, updating everything, so on. The only thing I've fixed is the error that said "there's a pending hardware issue". I cannot get the "your graphics card is not compatible with the Rift system requirements" message to go away. Everything, for the most part, works. It brings me to the Rift version of the menu when I click enable link instead of staying at the quest menu, and I can run the tutorial app for the Rift just fine. But it won't let me run any other apps. I downloaded VRChat to test it, and it said that it couldn't run it. I'm honestly at a loss for what's going on, and hoping that an actual solution can be brought forth, cause this is making me mad.

Here to add myself to this group. There seems to be a heap of conflicting information floating around across this forum on the 3050 Ti and in addition to that we have loads of people that have gotten it working (and working well) through third party methods. Which seems to indicate that Oculus is dropping the ball here.
So to those that are saying the 3050 Ti is too weak, what do you base that on? Because the 970 is much weaker and still operates.
Looking at the compatible GPU list leaves me even more puzzled. As there are cards on that list that date back as far as 2014. Namely the 970. The 3050 Ti will -crush- the 970 in every single benchmark and head to head FPS comparison that you throw at it. There is literally nothing that the 970 does better than the 3050 Ti. So why the heck can't you make the 3050 Ti work? Something does not add up here.

So, its been nearly a year and i was wondering if its even any closer to being fixed. I haven't heard a single update about it and frankly I'm suspicious that it's being looked into at all

I sadly haven't heard any word on when/if the 3050 Ti will be supported with Link, so you may be better off simply using a different PC if you're able, or using an app like Virtual Desktop.

The 3050 Ti isn't a rare, obscure graphics card, only used in a corner of the world. It's a popular device installed in many 'gaming' laptops the world over. Upgrading an on-board laptop graphics adapter is not possible - surely you realise this? I suggest that 'Meta' (sigh...) have a think about where their resources are being utilised and come up with a plan to add this support as soon as possible.
Simply saying you 'haven't heard any word' is not acceptable. You work for this company - you shouldn't have to 'listen' for 'word' - you should be reporting user-affecting issues back to the business and know what the plans are to resolve them; even if that means 'we aren't going to fix it'.
At the very least please allow the Link software to *attempt* to function with the 3050 Ti, rather than blocking all efforts with an error message, and please stop it leading us to inappropriate, misleading and unhelpful 'help' pages.
When 'Meta' was 'Oculus' it seems they understood their user base better. And their workers seemed better informed.

And there lies the problem, We're all complaining about meta's f***up where we went out and bought LAPTOPS based on Meta's compatible spec list (before they changed it after this thread started) most of us spending a few grand at least only to find out quest blocked us out of the software, because it turns out the 3050/ti are not compatible in some way.
Then comes along Meta support (who clearly has not read the threads) suggesting we change our Gpu's..... yeh mate i'll just dig my soldering iron out and invalidate my warranty to solve the problem quest created..... what a joke.

this doesn't make any sense. as of November 25, 2022, my laptop would use quest link just fine. 4 weeks later, that is no longer the case. as for "upgrading", the 3050, while not top of the line, is one of the better laptop cards in it's price bracket, and is extremely popular. All that is completely ignoring the fact that upgrading the card would mean purchasing an entirely new laptop, which is easily a $1000+ purchase. For a company that claims to be creating the "metaverse" and pushing the boundaries of VR, why can both HTC Vive and Valve index headsets run with this card, while yours can't? It's because of your garbage 3rd party software actively stopping me from using something that worked as recently as November 25th.

This is so frustrating. My graphic card is also RTX3050Ti. I was able to connect to my oculus quest2 until the oculus software got updated. I've tried factory reset and sadly, I've encountered a new problem where the ray of the right controller is not detected.

Hi Oculus Support. Any update on this status? It has been a year since you said Oculus and Nvidia are working together on this. Will the RTX 3050 ever be supported?

@SiggiPlayzzz what is Virtual Desktop? Can you include a link ? Are you saying it convinces the Oculus App to accept the RTX3050?
