OCCULUS GO heaset

Hello,

I own a brand new Oculus Go headset, which I have used only a handful of times.
I just turned it back on and realized that it no longer works independently — it now requires going through the app.

So I downloaded the Meta Horizon app on my Android phone.

I followed all the steps, successfully paired the app with the headset, and all connections (Bluetooth and Wi-Fi) seem to be working properly.

However, on the headset screen, I get the following message:
"Connected to Wi-Fi – Continue in the Oculus app. Your headset is updating. Please take it off and follow the steps in the Oculus app on your phone."

I have searched everywhere within the Meta Horizon app, but I can't find any update notification or visible progress indicator.

I'm completely stuck at this point.

Can anyone help me resolve this issue?

Do I really have to throw away a headset that is still new and fully functional?

What is going on?

@DLOM365  The Oculus Go has been unsupported for 4-5yrs now.  I bought one when it first came out about 7 yrs ago.  I sent mine to my local electronics waste disposal a couple years ago.  To avoid wasting your time on this headset I suggest you do the same.

If you want an inexpensive, fully functional and supported VR headset I suggest you buy a Meta Quest 3s.

@DLOM365  the current app does not support thee Oculus Go, but there are older versions of the android app available on the web that can be used on phones and tablets
