Oculus 2 won’t pair after factory reset

Hello all!

I bought a lightly used oculus like 6 months ago and never took it out of the box. I finally had time and family in town. I downloaded the app and at first I had the controllers and everything up to safety done but then it froze on updates… so I factor reset it thinking that it couldn’t do more harm 🥴 bot was I wrong! Now the oculus screen just shows a number to pair and well the app says it can’t find it. I spent 5 hours, valuable hours trying to fix this thing. I deleted the app, I cleared everything from my Bluetooth I read every stinking article. And I found this is an issue. So I found a back door fix of making a developer account and downloading the meta developer hub on my Mac. I got everything rolling and then the stupid app on the last step where you are suppose to log in with your meta account and then make the repair… well my Mac says some error message so I can’t open the hub to get to the fix- maybe at some point I can see if some computer person can tell me why BUT id love a true fix!! I’m a newbie but I am typically good at trouble shooting. I feel like I now own what could be this fun cool toy but now it’s a waste. So does anyone know the fix as I’ve read and read it’s 3am I’m mad I’m sad and I don’t understand how there isn’t an easy solution!

I can’t even access the setting via the device because now it’s just the screen with the number that doesn’t work. Side note I even borrowed another iPhone and had no luck!!

help me!!

Hello,

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention.

We understand the situation and would be more than happy to help.

Here are some options you can try out:

  1. Check your Wi-Fi signal. If your signal isn't strong, try moving closer to your wireless router (internet connection device).
  2. Check to make sure your headset and mobile phone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  3. Make sure that your app is up-to-date.

Or :

Go to "Settings" > "Device" > "About" > "Software Update" to check for updates. Forget and Re-pair Device: If you've previously tried to pair the Bluetooth device, go to the Oculus Quest 2 settings and forget the device. Then, try pairing it again as if it's a new connection.

If the issue persist, please do not hesitate to contact us privately, our team will do its best to guide you towards the best solution.
