Oculus App Status - Can't Reach Oculus Service

jvaughn73

I've been trying to install the Oculus app and whenever I install it I get the error "Oculus App Status: Can't reach Oculus service. Please try restarting your computer. If that doesn't work, try repairing your Oculus app."  I tried restarting my computer and I tried to repair the app but it just puts me in a loop of reinstalling the app and getting the same error. I also tried the solutions that were recommended in this forum post https://communityforums.atmeta.com/t5/Get-Help/Oculus-App-Status-Can-t-Reach-Oculus-Service/td-p/992... but that didn't work either.

Does anyone have an actual fix for this problem?

Hey folks,

I know you are waiting on reply from the original poster, but I am experiencing the same issue, and have just finished walking through the above solution from your support. The steps taken have not fixed the issue, can you give me any additional steps I can take to try to resolve this?  I am running a Rift CV1 and not the "S".

Hey there, @Grambbo. We received your PM and will continue to assist there however we can. We know how important it is to be able to launch the PC application and look forward to helping you out however we can!
