Oculus CV1 stopped working on GTX 1060. Sound but no display

My desktop system does not produce any display in Oculus while I can hear the audio. Even the indicator led of oculus stays amber even when I run any scene. The same PC-oculus combination was working smoothly a few months back.
My PC configuration is Core i5, 8gb ram, msi gtx 1060 3gb running windows 10 and latest nvidia drivers. My graphics card is healthy and works with any other displays, my oculus cv1 as well is working on my other systems. But unfortunately it does not work with this PC. I tried putting a gtx 970 in it, but it showed the same problem, i could hear the sound but there was no display. Apart from graphics card replacement, i ahve already tried following options:
1. DVI to HDMI adapter
2. Reinstalling windows
3. Installing an older verison of Nvidia drivers
4. Trying to run Oculus off 2.0 port, attaching my monitor to integrated graphics card, attaching my monitor to dedicated graphics card.
5. Trying a new oculus with the PC, faced the same issue.

I might have the same problem. When I launch Oculus or a VR-game, the display flickers once but then stays black. The HDMI-port it is connected to is working. The other ports don't make any difference. I reinstalled the GeForce-driver and the Oculus software. Doing the latter led to the Rift being detected as additional display showing the desktop, telling me, the display is working as well. All this seems to be a software-related issue.

Same issue but on a 780, just suddenly stopped working....

I had the same issue. It seems the Oculus update on Monday broke things for Nvidia drivers newer than v385.41. Reverting back seems to be the current workaround

Thanks Programmer8922, just installed 385.41 fresh and hey presto!

Interestingly I got 385.69 working this morning only to find it dead when I got home, I have had 385.69 installed for a while seems odd that it would suddenly brick...

Anyway thanks for the tip  🙂

NICE! 385.41 did the trick. I only reverted to the last, 385.69, not to the forelast 😕
