As the title says. Recently I get this message, "Failed Entitlement Check" when I launch the app Virtual Desktop Streamer. I have owned the app for years.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the App
Factory reset the The Oculus
Even Launched the app from the phone app
All with the same results.
I have also noticed that the app store will not load on the Oculus. It looks like it tries to start but then shuts down right away.
I realize this is a very old device but any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Hey there @RobbyC57D. The Oculus Go was an important stepping stone in the lifecycle of not only Oculus but VR as a whole. It brought to life a new world for millions of people, and introduced them to what VR was, and could be. We would like to thank you for being an early adopter of this new reality, and for taking this journey with us for so long. Unfortunately, all things must come to an end, and our focus has since shifted to ensure that we can keep focusing on pushing what is possible in VR. While support for the Oculus Go has ended, we hope you can still find plenty of experiences, wonder and fun with the apps that continue to thrive on the Oculus Go, and hope to continue to see you in the virtual world!

Hey everyone! I've been in the works investigating reports regarding the state of launching applications on the Oculus Go, despite the hardware officially reaching end of life. I definitely understand the need for jumping back into it as soon as possible, and want to address this as transparently as possible.
I just want to reiterate that the hardware for Oculus Go is indeed at the end of its life cycle, and we appreciate the extended support and enthusiasm everyone has shown for it over the long years. Despite the status, our engineering team has given me word that they're still investigating reports of the issues.
While our team can't promise a fix or guarantee ongoing support for end of life products, your feedback is incredibly valuable to us, and the correct teams are currently being flagged to explore all possible avenues. I'll be sure to keep you all updated on any developments or insights that our team gains along the way.
Thank you for your patience and I hope to have an update for you all soon!
I wanted to circle back with an update on the Oculus Go application launch issues. Our engineering team has thoroughly reviewed the situation, and after careful consideration, they’ve decided that they won't be able to take on this project.
We know how much you all love and value the Oculus Go, and it’s been amazing to see the continued support and enthusiasm for this device. However, as it’s officially reached the end of its life cycle, our team needs to prioritize our current and future products to ensure we’re delivering the best possible experience.
Your feedback has been incredibly valuable, and while we can’t guarantee fixes or ongoing support for end-of-life products, your insights are always important to us and help guide our future efforts.
Thank you so much for your understanding and patience. If there are any new developments or changes, I’ll make sure to keep you all in the loop.

I have the same problem with my Oculus Go as well. This problem never happened before. VRDesktop was still working earlier this April. So I guess we're basically forced to upgrade to one of the newer headsets huh?

@metaquestsupport I understand the Go has been sunset but it seems unfair that I can no longer use the applications I paid for. There should be some way of bypassing the Entitlement Check for outdated software. You should offer a refund for software YOU have decided to turn off.

I guess the actual questions are: has entitlement check been actively disabled on your end, and, are you willing to enable this ‘paid for’ functionality again?? This isn’t a matter of ‘old devices..’ but simply acknowledging we paid for an app that can work stand alone (which was what the Go was for) as long as it (the app) knows we paid for it..
My old consoles can still use the apps I bought years ago, while their servers are long gone.. this shouldn’t be a thing!

This is an unbelievably tone deaf answer to "you did something that made my bought and paid for software stop working." This issue is happening on both the Oculus Go and GearVR headsets, and while I certainly appreciate that the hardware has moved on, when I boot up any of my ancient technology, the software I bought for it still functions. Should this be interpreted to mean Meta does not intend to revert to the working server (assuming the entitlement check server is the issue, since nothing in the device was changed or updated prior to the abrupt cease of function in the Virtual Desktop app) or otherwise restore access to software purchased, licensed, and designed to work on these deprecated devices?

We would love to hear a response from you. Many people are experiencing the same problems, looking through several messageboards.

Still the same problem and I think like you.

I am one of a million owners of an Oculus Go and I am very angry.
I bought about 30 Apps/Games for my Oculus go in the last 3 years and I still love to play the Games.
For about 3 Weeks, I can't start these Games any more (Entitlement failed)
I can't understand why Meta made it impossible to play these games any further.
I own the right to use the games without time limit and as long as my Oculus Go works, I should be able to use these Apps I payed for. (Even my very old game boy still works and doesn't say: "Entitlement failed.)
Sorry, but I think META is stealing my money. I want Meta to fix this problem that affects millions of custumers all over the world with an update. And I hope that people won't put up with this illegal situation.
Greetings from Munich, Germany.

Since 3 weeksI can`t play many of my purchased Games on OCULUS GO. It's displayed "Entitlement Check failed" or "You are not the owner"... My friend has the same problem with his Go. We are not the only ones to have this issue and need help.
(Many Apps I payed for don't work anymore: e.g. Relax River, Wonder Glade, Deadalus,Eclispse,Discovery, Rise Of Insanity Part One and Part Two, Cathedral, Merry Snowballs. The Hospital, The Villa, Dream Journey, Wands, Affected the Manor, Death Horizon, Distroted, Bionic Hunter, Jurasic Worl Blue, Fear Incarnate, Face Your Fears, Terror Cave, Relic Seeker, House of Butcher ..)
Following Apps I payed for are still working: Smash Hit, Dead and Burried, Blade Runner 2049, Dreadhalls, Mummy Hunter, The Hunter, SkyBox, Rilix Coaster, Welcome to Virtual Reality, Darkness Rollercoaster, Cursed Sanctum, Devinity Defence ..
