As the title says. Recently I get this message, "Failed Entitlement Check" when I launch the app Virtual Desktop Streamer. I have owned the app for years.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the App
Factory reset the The Oculus
Even Launched the app from the phone app
All with the same results.
I have also noticed that the app store will not load on the Oculus. It looks like it tries to start but then shuts down right away.
I realize this is a very old device but any help is appreciated.
Thanks

By disabling the apps in this way they are actively disabling functionality and regular usage of the device as a whole, which isn’t what was stated earlier by Meta: we would be able to keep using the device, just not getting new updates/apps/etc..
@MetaQuestSupport Could we get an official reply to this and my earlier 2 questions?

We didn't rent the apps. We bought them and in no way agreed to this arrangement. Just make the games available without the entitlement check, or find a work-around for the people you are, at this point, ripping off. This product was only 6 yrs old, and it's a piece of hardware that should still be functioning with or without your oversight or approval.

Hi,
the oculus store app doesn't work any more for about one year. The reason ist, that Meta wants us to buy the apps in the Oculus/Meta App on the smart phone. This works and I could buy games.
But this doesn't have anything to do with the Entitlement Check failed problem we all have for about 3 weeks.
It's even still possible to install further free-of-charge-apps as long as these apps are not affected by the Entitlement Check. Some games I bought still can be launched and played without any issue.
An Update is urgently necessary.

Hello people, after waiting for a public response I decided to contact the support through DM.
Long story short: it’s over, your devices will not get any support in this situation through Meta.
After many messages (‘have you tried turning it off and on again’ and such) they just told me there was no intention to solving this and to maybe ask the developer for an update, which obviously is impossible, since developer updates have been disabled earlier, thus trapping us in a vicious cycle.. they took note of our frustration but noted they wouldn’t do anything about it.
I have already reported this situation to a big European tech website through a news submit. Please feel free to do the same internationally, so the public gets informed about this unbelievable behaviour. A perfectly working device has been actively disabled by removing a payment check, while we actually paid for the apps.
This was my first and last Meta device… fortunately I will be able to continue to use all my paid for downloaded applications on my Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Playstation Portable, Playstation Vita, Nintendo Wii/U, Nintendo (3)DS/i, Apple iPad 1/2/3/+ and many other products, just not Meta’s..

This BS my programs loaded fine until 2 weeks ago. Now programs I have paid for I can no longer use!!! You make Apple look like a company that cares, META obviously does not!

In the end MetaQuestSupport advised me to contact the developer for a possible solution..
I contacted Virtual Desktop’s developer about a possibility regain access to the app. He told me the problem is caused on Meta’s end… as we suspected.
I’m certainly not buying a Quest 2 to just have the same problem in 1 or 2 years again.. that’s called ‘planned obsolescence’..
