Oculus Go: Failed Entitlement Check

RobbyC57D
Honored Guest

As the title says. Recently I get this message, "Failed Entitlement Check" when I launch the app Virtual Desktop Streamer.  I have owned the app for years.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the App

Factory reset the The Oculus

Even Launched the app from the phone app

All with the same results.

I have also noticed that the app store will not load on the Oculus. It looks like it tries to start but then shuts down right away.

I realize this is a very old device but any help is appreciated.

Thanks

I just double checked several on mine,, looks like it is still working for me. You may need to power off and power on your go and maybe you have to uninstall reinstall the games. I did those thibgs, so maybe they are necessary. I don't know. Also, for reference I am using the unlocked software for the Go, although I seriously doubt that matters.

I did that, same thing...

I wonder if an entitlement is kind of like a certificate/key.  So that if you get one, you are good for a period of time, until they expire.

In which case, since you got some recently when the infrastructure was back up, they might still be good.

Can you try installing something that you don't have installed and didn't install recently?

I've tried 4 programs, only one worked (and some games didn't have entitlement checks), but the other three are failing.

FireZone, Remote Desktop, and Void Racer are ll failing for me still.

Defense Grid 2 did work tho....
And maybe it's just hit/miss....

Sure, I'll try that test. Yes, I agree a handful of games seem to not have entitlement check and always worked: Esper 1 & 2, Witchblood, Darknet, Rangi, and Land's end. Also, if you aren't running it already you might consider switching to the unlocked OS build so we know we're running the same software version and remove that variable.
