I got everything set up. Battery life is 55%. As it's taking me through the controller usage tutorial the screens black out. Can't make it though the controller tutorial. Any ideas?

I was also having this issue, but then I lifted up my hair (which was covering the head sensor whenever I put the headset on) so that the only thing below the top lip of the headset was my skin. It worked perfectly after that.

Problem solved!

Recently I was having an automatic shutdown problem.  Every time I turned my unit on it would stay on for exactly 30 seconds before beeping once and then automatically shutting off.   This happened repeatedly.   I got an answer from Oculus Support and followed their simple instructions:

With your headset off:

1.  Press and hold your power button for 10 seconds.

With your headset on:

1.  Press and hold the power button until you see a shutdown menu in VR.

2.  On the shutdown menu, select Power Off.
