Oculus Home will not stay off my screen!!!

I click X, it comes right back on within a few seconds. If I keep doing that enough, eventually at some point it'll stay off for about 10 minutes then pop right back up. How the heck can I keep this thing from hogging up my screen without minimizing it all the time? This thing is as annoying as malware.
I don't mind if it pops up when I put on my Rift, but when I'm done with VR, I want this app turned off. And no the sensor on the Rift isn't being triggered, I keep it inside a drawer where nothing could trigger it.  Is there anything I can do?

You cannot install Oculus with run as admin. That will break everything. Please uninstall and reinstall normally. You may also want to try without any sort of 3rd party tweak applications just to make sure it works.

So the info that Beastybaiter linked is bs? I just did a reinstall of Oculus home. What else can I try?

I've had a similar problem recently. My oculus home was starting randomly without a known reason and I had to close it each time manually. Could not work out what the hell was happening. This was happening even with my oculus being unplugged completely from USB extension.
Then I noticed the same is happening with steam VR since steam update. It stopped happening when I started leaving steam off and switched off automatic steam app start with windows.
Hope this helps somebody.

PS I use WIN10.

The link I posted is how I stopped OH from launching every time I launch a non OH game. It's worth mentioning that the only place I set anything to admin was on the desktop shortcut. I originally did it through the OH install folders and it buggered all sorts of stuff. It was an absolute pain to fix after that mistake, but that was a case of me not following directions.

This is on Win 10 btw.

That would have been nice to know before hand, not that I'm blaming you of course. But your link just says this "just set the OculusClient.exe to " Run as Administrator". Right click the OculusClient.exe, choose properties, and put a checkmark in the " run this program as administrator" box and apply.

I originally set Oculus Home shortcut to run as Admin and it didn't do anything. I re-read the link and realized it meant OculusClient and did exactly as it's quoted but now It's really screwed up. I can't get it to come on for anything. I completely uninstalled everything Rift related and I can't finish the install because I can't view anything on the screen.....it's bricked or something. I removed the Administrator privilege and the sensor still launches Home but the screens don't work.

I think this is the first time I've ever received a fix to resolve a problem only to destroy the product..It's like making a wish to the WishMaster. So before I panic, how did you fix your's? Maybe that procedure will fix mine.

Not a good way to ask for help. I simply didn't see the post. In regards to how I fixed it, I don't remember. All I remember is it took a lot of googling to figure out how to unrestrict an entire folder with hundreds of files in it that I didn't have access to because my admin account wasn't considered the right admin. Once I found the solution, it went quickly, but finding the exact solution did take a while. All I remember is it involved messing with admin privileges in the folder.

Your device is not bricked though, it's just a problem with the install. The device would work just fine on another PC or on your current one once the software is uninstalled and reinstalled.

This might be the solution, it certainly looks like what I got to work.
