Oculus/Meta Quest 2 Update In Progess When Powering Off

Bear23246

Hi folks, had my VR for a good while (It's a quest 2 with oculus branding if it helps) and i turned it off the other day, and it powered off, but i found it turned on today, talked to everyone in my household, no one touched it, so i decided to turn it off, and naturally I have update before power off enabled, so i then clicked power off and left it. Little did I know, it had other plans and DIDN'T turn off. and when i went back to check it, it was on the same screen (the "continue as X account aside,) Here's what i want to know:

Is there any risk to me pressing cancel on the update.

As the headset costed quite a chunk of change (it was pretty expensive for us) and I'd be terrified to do anything to damage. (I have dev mode enabled in the app, for side quest and what not, sorry if I shouldn't talk about it. New to forums.)

Thanks For Any Help I Receive,

-Bear

Hiya, thanks for the message but my issue was resolved later as it turned off, however I think it sprung a new problem by updating an app I didn’t want to be updated, I will deal with it myself. Thanks for the help anyways!!

Hey there @Bear23246! It seems like you're experiencing some difficulties with your Quest 2 staying powered on when you're trying to turn it off. Don't worry, we're here to help you out! We'd like you to try a hard reboot on your headset. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to do it. Feel free to reach out if you need any further assistance!

  1. Hard Reboot the headset
    1. Hold down the power button and volume down button for 30 seconds until you hear the boot-up sound
    2. If the boot-up sound is not heard:
      1. Hold the power and volume (-) button down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
      2. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight "Boot Device" and press the power button.
      3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.
