TLDR: Can I force Windows Xbox Game bar to record from Oculus Mirror instead of the actual game window?
Hey all.. I play a lot of games and record the output using the Oculus Mirror and OBS but on occasion I forget to record and then miss some awesome gameplay. Often I've wanted to then just press Windows G and grab the last 10 mins of game play only to be really disappointed with games like Minecraft where as soon as you put on the HMD the games stops mirroring to the Minecraft app and instead mirrors to the Oculus Mirror screen (which results in gamebar just capturing a static image).. awesome if you remember to press record (or stream in OBS etc), but so annoying when you forget.
I'd like to think there would be registry setting or something somewhere that would force the game bar to only record from a certain window but I can't find anything... just wondered if anyone had any ideas.
I realise I could use the DVR functionality in OBS but that kinda defeats the object as I sill need to turn that on whereas gamebar just runs... all the time. and records in the background all the time.
Thanks in advance 🙂

This Bugs me, OBS and other software seem to bog me down when recording. Game bar doesn’t affect it to much when recording. It sucks that it won’t capture Oculus mirror, I also have had audio switching problems. Were it won’t capture audio when I have my headset on. It’s so convenient but, man consistency is key.
