Oculus Need To Get A Handle On These USB Issues ASAP Or Risk Product Confidence Collapse

My research suggests that the vast majority of support issues relate to USB 3.0 and to a lesser extent (batch dependent) incorrect LED alignment. If Oculus do not get a handle on these USB issues the negative media coverage and consumer grapevine will destroy the product's potential within twelve months of launch.

Have been an indie dev for many years, I've found that people can be very reasonable if you give them a chance to be. What I think will really hurt Oculus is the lack of any obvious openness about fixing the issue. If they had replied to me and said "Sorry about this issue, we are aware of the issue and are working on a fix, we expect a fix to be available within one to two weeks". Instead they just stopped replying to my e-mails.

Cybereality has apologized several times already on this forum. And they are currently looking into this issue support is doing what they can to resolve it. I understand some of you are very frustrated but be patient a fix will come soon enough.

So, we did find what could be the problem. The engineering team created a fix, and it looked promising after the initial tests, but it came in too late on Friday to launch. We're going to do additional testing over the weekend, and (if everything looks good) we can probably push the fix on Monday. Really sorry for the delay on this one, but we're almost there. Thanks.

How does it look? Do you think we can expect a firmware update today? Im looking forward to it. Hopefully this will resolve the issues we're having, and hopefully spare you guys from creating additional issues that usually arise with new software/hardware. Thanks.

Yep great news cyber and totally agree with DNAcowboy comments.

Maybe oculus needs to think about having a usb card created specifically for the rift.

Looking at the amount of people who have brought usb cards, would it not be good to have the ability to buy a dedicated card to work and designed for the rift.

phew I just got my rift 3 days ago, went through the setup and just started getting this issue. I was dreading that the sensor has become a dud. Look forward the update when its out then
