Oculus PC app won't login

I bought my quest 2's before oculus became meta.

Now my son got a new PC so trying to get it all setup to play Alyx on his PC.

It seems to require the oculus app, problem is it won't let me login. It either tells me to use my browser to login (which I can as I know the email/password) or it tells me my email and/or password is wrong. 

I've been in touch with tech support, they had me do a bunch of things, reinstall the app, change my password, nothing works.

Then she tells me its a known issue and they are trying to fix it....? WTH anyone else have the same issue? when will this be fixed?

Hey there, @Elliott1133! Thank you for providing that information. 

 

It seems that you are trying to log in with the Oculus Login option. Instead of that, choose "login with email" for the meta account login. After that, enter your email and password, and you should be able to log in. 

 

If you are still not able to log in, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app on your desktop, and then try logging in again. 

 

If you are still having trouble logging in, please send us a private message, so we can look into this further. To send us a message, please select our name to get to our profile page, or click here. Next, click "Send a Message" to privately message us! Please remember, you must be signed into the community first to send us a private message.

 

Please let us know if you are able to log in successfully. If you still need help, send us that private message, and we'll be happy to look into this further!

Yeah dude ive been having the same issue. I bought bloodtrail excited to play it but ended up refunding it because It wont let login. Tech support isnt helpful at all.

Hello there, @Elliott1133! We see you are having trouble logging into the Oculus app on your PC. We know how much of an inconvenience this can be when wanting to be able to use your VR. We would be happy to help you look into this! 

 

  • Could you please provide a screenshot of what you are seeing when trying to log into the Oculus app on your PC?
  • Were you able to launch the app before the Oculus/Meta account merger?
  • Are all the components in your computer up-to-date?
  • If you have other accounts on your computer, are you able to open it on one of those other accounts?
  • Do you have anti-virus protection turned on for your computer when you are trying to launch the app?

 

Please provide Whatever additional information you can provide so we can look into this further. Once we have it, we'll be able to better help you with this issue!

Hi, I could use it before the swap over to Meta, no antivirus protection causing an issue. My PC is windows 11 and all up to date. I blanked over my email address, essentially stuck on this screen

that worked! I don't know why the chat helpdesk person didn't tell me how to do that?

I would like to ask what to do when I want to log into the oculus app. When I want to log in via email, it tells me to continue in the browser but I don't know what page to log in on or what to actually do.

Hey @TomasKadlec, just so that we get a better idea of what's going on by chance did you try out the troubleshooting steps that we have previously given on this post? If not, can you let us know what type of troubleshooting you have already preformed ?

I tried everything but when I tried to log in to my account using email the app told me to go to my main browser but I couldn't find out what page to log in on.
