Oculus Party Mic Crackle (Impossible to understand other person)

Every time I go to start an Oculus party chat with my friend his mic will crackle or it will work fine for 10 seconds and then it starts acting up, but he can hear me just fine, I understand him fine in games though, like Pavlov and Eleven Table Tennis (outside of the party), it used to work just fine when the Quest released for a long time, in the past 2 months it just stopped working. My friend and I are always having to resort to meeting in steamvr chat or Discord with a cell phone and mic wired to one ear. Does anyone else have this problem? It's such a pain not being able to use Oculus parties anymore it used to be such an awesome feature.

EDIT: For reference; we are both on Quest.

*** Edit 2: It works in games but not in Oculus Home for us.

I've experienced something similar in multiplayer Death Lap. In multiplayer you're dropped into a race with internet randoms and there's often someone in the race with that problem. You can't understand them at all and it sounds almost like bleed over from another party.

We were able to figure out that it works in games but not in Oculus home.
