Oculus Quest 2 Airlink

Hi Everyone,

I am having a problem running a PC based game Flight Simulator X Steam edition using FlyInside through Airlink. I have done the following.

1.  Run "Oculus Home" on your PC
2.  Go to "Settings" in the left-hand column
3.  Choose the "General" tab
4.  Make sure "Unknown Sources" is enabled
Here are the issues:

  1. I can see the FSX SE splash scream in the goggle view and it indicated in the lower left corner FSX Loading... and it just hangs at that point. In one session I was able to control the PC FSXSE window view with turning the goggles, but again nothing in the VR goggles, just the FSXSE loading splash screen.
  2. One other note, is I have Go Flight Inc controls, which causes you to answer a prompt to load the utility software as FSX SE loads.  I have Active Sky weather networked which caused a load prompt as well.
  3. I did see the FSX Inside prompt to press a joystick button. I pressed the Oculus Quest 2 controller main OK button and it cleared the screen and moved on.  Was I supposed to press a joystick button connected to the PC?? I have the CH Products Yoke and Pedals.
  4. The Yoke and Pedals I want to use with the goggles on and use the hand tracking to control cockpit interaction.
  5. When I loaded Quest Airlink, it seems like the hand tracking went away, and I can only use the hand controllers.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hey there @skyseek.2022! We see you're having issues while using your Quest 2 with AirLink. This isn't the type of experience we aim to provide! Since we're limited in troubleshooting for Steam, we'd love to hear from the community and see if any of our VR friends can chime in with some advice. Let us know if you've found a solution!

I have access to the developer of FlyInside, and would like to work with him and Meta Oculus Quest 2 technical support.  This is probably the only way to solve this issue!

I found access to Meta Oculus Quest 2 to not be responsive using the ticket system.  Sometimes just a 10 minute call could determine if there is resolution.  I know there are millions of Flight Simmers out there that might be interested in VR Goggles.  Time to step up!

Thanks!

I just wanted to give you an update.

The biggest issue is that you have to physically hold the oculus quest, two hand controllers. Whereas in the oculus quest, two native environment, you are not required to hold the controllers for hand tracking. This is huge, and I hope Meta will take a look at this and resolve it.

This takes all the functionality away from using touch in the flight simulator cockpit. It makes the whole interface with the cockpit cumbersome and awkward.

The other big issue I’m having is with the headset fitting over my eyeglasses. I will almost have to purchase a pair of smaller lenses and frames so it will fit properly.

At this point, it has failed all testing. Even though FlyInside, utility software has worked really well the graphics through air link really lacks resolution and clarity. I hope this feedback gets through to the oculus quest two development team so they can resolve it and maybe I will purchase a another headset once this once these issues are resolved..

Using the hand controllers with my USB flight controls is really awkward.

Thanks!
