Oculus Quest 2 browser not opening

Hi, my browser on my Oculus Quest 2 will not open. It crashes immediately meaning I can’t use it. Can anyone help?

Hey there, @jasper2000.2022. We can definitely understand how concerning it would be for your web browser to immediately crash like that, and we'd be glad to help out! We'd recommend trying out a factory reset to see if that helps out, but before doing that make sure that your Cloud Backup settings are enabled. This will help save the data of any games with Cloud Backup support added by their developers. Then follow the steps below and let us know how it turns out! 

 

From the Headset:
 

  • Power off the headset.
  • Press and hold volume down & Power.
  • This will boot into the USB Update Mode menu.
  • Press volume button to move selection, press power button to make the selection.
  • Navigate to Factory Reset and press the Power button.
  • The device should now begin the Factory Reset process.

You idiots at MetaQuest Don't EVER fix ANY issues! Your only solution to every issue is factory reset! There should be a class action lawsuit against you. Your app is trash and you can't delete photos from your phone and they DO NOT DELETE AFTER 10 DAYS SO STOP LYING ALL THE TIME! I have photos in my app from 3 years ago EXPLAIN THAT!! Your browser is completely trash and you have ZERO solutions to fixing it other than factory reset. Well guess what? FACTORY RESET DOES NOT FIX IT!! I swear I want to sue you & get my money back for the gear AND all the games & app I paid for!!!

Hey there @IyagoNoctem, we totally understand how important it is to find the proper solution to your issue, yet it can be inconvenient being told to factory reset, as if it will fix everything. While its not always helpful on the user end, the factory resets are the initial part of our troubleshooting procedures, and helps us to move forward when investigating an issue or error.
