Oculus Quest 2 device receipt

Hello,

I would like to know what is treated as receipt by oculus in case of any defects in the device hardware during 2 years warranty period?

Usually from any other store I recieve a pdf file as a payment confirmation as I want to give an oculus device as a gift it would be reasonable to transfer also all the documents that are "proof of warranty" to my family member that will enjoy the quest device.

Thanks!

Hi!

If you bought the headset directly from Oculus, they should have sent you a receipt via email (and maybe in the box too when it arrives, but I can't remember if mine did or not so don't quote me on that,) which I'm guessing should be more then enough to prove warranty.

If you bought it from a 3rd party seller, then you'll have to look through your emails to see if they sent you a digital receipt or not. Oculus should still accept it the warranty request if you did, as long as it's under the warranty period.

Oculus should accept basically anything that says that you are the one who purchased the headset, owns it, when you bought it, etc. As to the specifics I'm not sure, but I'm guessing that's that's the case.

And as to your question if you should transfer all your files to the gift recipient, honestly that's up to you. I'd say go for it since you have no use for the receipts. It's quite possible that during a warranty claim, they might not even ask for a receipt (not sure, but possible) as they might be able to link the warranty to the Serial Number of the headset, or to the Credit/debit card that was used to purchase the headset.

Hopefully this helps.
