Oculus Quest 2 screen freezing (standalone)

liah4real
Honored Guest

So, basically, when I turn my headset on, it will take a while for it to load my guardian, and when I load onto the menu, the screen will last for about 10-15 seconds until it freezes and I cant move anything. I do not use PCVR nor my headset is plugged to any computer, I use standalone. I've tried restarting multiple times, using the 'Boot Up' option in USB mode, tried shutting it off for a couple hours, but still, nothing works. And when I plug my charger in (which is the original, by the way) the LED just stays white, even though my headset was at like, 80% battery

Hey there, @liah4real! We certainly want to get you back into VR as soon as possible. Reviewing the steps that you have already attempted, we would recommend allowing the battery to fully drain, then charging the headset overnight so that it may fully charge before attempting again. If it should still persist, we would want to complete a factory reset. What this will do is reset the device to a "like-new" state, wiping all information and data off the device. Some of this data can be restored by enabling Cloud Backups beforehand; however, keep in mind that while Cloud Backup is available to all Meta Quest developers, it is up to developers to decide whether to enable this feature for their app and what data is backed up. You can find which installed apps have Cloud Backups enabled on the Cloud Backups page of your Meta account profile.

If you still encounter any issues, please let us know. We appreciate your time.

Thank you so much for reaching back out! Let's see what information we can find to make the keyboard bigger! For the size, you may be able to make it bigger, or bring it closer to you. Please try closing out the keyboard and bringing the menu closer to you using the controller. Once you've done that you should be able to reopen the keyboard and it'll stay in the closer spot that the menu was dragged to.

As for it not saving your language preference, please make sure that the device is fully up to date. If so, we recommend submitting the problem to our engineers, so they can be aware of the issue. We have the steps on our guide here.

Thank you team, factory resetting did help for now, but after that I kind of got a small inconvenience... 😹 now, the virtual keyboard of the quest 2 looks kind of odd; it's too small compared to before and it won't let me change languages; it comes back to English after I close the virtual keyboard and open it again. Not a crazy problem, just a small inconvenience...
