Oculus Quest won't connect to my PC via airlink

I tried to connect my Oculus Quest to my PC via AirLink, how I normally did in the past, but now my PC shows up in my headsed, but after pressing the blue button "Pair" it turns to a non-clickable dark-blue  button "Launch", and absolutely nothing happens.jyw6d0P6Ji8.jpgP4V6NZ6TApE.jpg

Tried to connect it via the cable, it worked, but I don't want to play with a cable.

I tried those metods:

  • Reboot PC and headset
  • Update graphic card's drivers
  • Uninstall and install the Oculus app on my PC
  • Factory reset of the headsed (power button + volume-)
  • Restart my Wi-Fi router
  • Update headset's software to the latest version (system version 49845030311700410)
  • Reinstall the Link driver on my computer (c:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-drivers\oculus-driver.exe)

My headset is connected to a 5Ghz Wi-Fi, AirLink worked fine some months ago, but now it doesn't work.

Did all the step above and still, airlink does not work. Weird, it was working while playing a game. I stopped playing attempted to restart the game later and airlink was no longer working.

I factory reset the headset
Erase Oculus and all associated folder as describe above with no result.
I can pair the headset to my pc but when lunching the airlink, the display change to black, getting ready to display the PC interface as per usual and crash back to the default menu of the headset. Very enjoying, specially it was working 5 minutes before. Their were no headset, PC, drivers etc updates.

Hello, I have not been able to connect via airlink since it was released with my quest2. I have since upgraded my router to wifi6 and also bought a quest3. Still same problem with both headsets. I have followed these steps and in the headset, I can select my pc and hit the pair button then it tries for a minute before throwing a message that it couldn't connect (I can give you the exact message if needed). It does works via cable. PLEASE HELP!! THANKS!

Hi all,

A solution that worked for me...

I had exactly the same problem with the Pair button just turning into a disabled 'Launch' button when I press it. It worked before, and then one day it stopped working.

I tried removing the Link app in safe mode and reinstalling as described elsewhere in this thread, and also factory-resetting the Quest 2 headset, but neither of those fixed it for me.

I'm using an ASUS Vivobook, but I think this might work for any Asus machine using the MyAsus app, and a similar fix might work for similar vendor-specific software like the Lenovo config center or other vendor 'bloatware'.

In the end, it seems it was the 'fan profile' setting in MyASUS Device settings:

I had set it to 'Whisper mode'. I just double-checked, and enabling it (and then restarting) causes real problems with Air Link. I'm guessing it disables or limits the hardware in some way that prevents the link from working properly.

To fix it, I set MyASUS 'Fan Profile' back to 'Standard' mode, and then I had to restart too. After the restart, everything magically started working again!

I hope this helps someone else, and even if you're not using an Asus machine, if you're using any settings to optimise battery, reduce fan noise, or otherwise 'optimise' for power usage (Windows, MyASUS, Lenovo bloatware, Nvidia Experience - they all might have settings like this), try turning them off, or setting them back to the standard, default setting.

It took be a few days of troubleshooting to find this out!!

You know this issue started happening for me after I installed ASUS Armor Crate. I'd be willing to bet the could be related. Thanks for the tip.
