Oculus Refund

I dont really get it. I bought my Touch Controllers and my Rift two months ago and I wont get the 50$ refund. But when you bought your Touch Controllers within the last 30 days you get it and on top of that you could return your Touch Controllers and get the new Price for the Item. If you do so you literally save 150$ (50$ for The Refund and 100$ for the Price drop) and all the other people before that dont get anything.
Where is the logic? I mean Oculus could at least give the people the 50$ who bought it before the last 30days.

I feel your pain... But look at it this way. In a years time, we'll all be crying that we paid the early adopter fee of whatever we paid, and new users are getting their OR's for a fraction of the price..

But look at it in a more positive note, you got to experience Rift before most others, and you knew what you were paying at the time was, and to you at the time it was worth the cost !  as you went ahead and pulled the trigger.

Also look at how much other free stuff you got with your Rift.

There HAS to be a cut-off somewhere, don't you agree?
Big PC, all the headsets, now using Quest 3

Whilst I agree that those of us who pre-ordered took the risk, and were happy with the price, we also had to put up with weeks of things making their own mind up if they wanted to connect to HDMI/USB etc, paying for additional USB cards and a very limited range of software.  It was purely down to the uptake of Rift by us, and the resulting groundswell of enthusiasm and interest that has allowed Oculus to be in the position it is today. Whilst I wouldnt expect a refund or anything like that, I would at least have thought that a gesture such as a discount in store, or even the free game that is being bundled with the new revised price hardware would be in order.  The whole thing leaves a nasty taste in the mouth.

Yes, HMD gets cheaper, so do CPU, GPUs and other hardware. Not exactly breaking news. Buy a GTX 1080 today, in 3-6 months it will be offered on ebay for a fraction. Etc..etc...

I don't get why people are saying a 50% reduction after a couple of months is normal. My gtx 1080 was £80 more 2-3 months after I bought it. Actually I have always kept up to date with the latest and this never happens. Cpu is about the same price maybe 10% at a push 6 months later. Prices start to fall quicker once the next gen is here. Next gen isnt 2-3 months after the previous. Recently, my oled tv has probably been the nearest. But i'd still be crying now if that halved in price after a couple of months of release. But it didn't. Took 12 months.
Talking about 1080's, looks like the xp performance will be available for 30-40% off. A lot of xp owners not happy to lose so quickly and that card has been out for about 7 months.
I am not in the discussion expecting a refund. I know I am not entitled and was very happy to pay the full amount. I am also happy that it is more accessible to new users.
I just feel a little burned as I see that oculus action of offering 50 to people who registered in the last month as a token off goodwill, acknowledging this move isnt normal. So I complain from sour grapes rather than a financial one.

Some of the replies of suck it up its normal blah blah blah. If no one ever spoke out. Maybe there is more chance this could happen again. Fingers crossed.
I will take the risk one more time. Lets hope this is just a blip. I dont mind waiting 2 months from release for any hardware if I know its likely to be 50% off new.

Anyways, looking forward to seeing some more people join in. Hopefully some friends will join the vr game its more affordable. So now the bitter taste is here, I know it only gets sweeter from now on.

There will always be people who 'just bought it' right before a price drop. Expecting a refund for being that guy is silly. Should you get a refund or everyone else out there that bought something just (just is relative) before a price drop? That's a huge undertaking if the latter.
