Purchased a CV1 Back in 2016 connected to a Hewlett Packard Dual Xeon Z820 Workstation/128gbRam/Titan Z GPU/Windows 10pro. After a couple months of Oculus VR, the entire system along with The Oculus CV1 system was packaged up and retired. 3 weeks ago I decided it would be nice to hook everything back up for the grand kids. Thinking it would be nice to update the HP system to spec. After W10 got its infamous security updates as well as the latest "Kernal" NVIDIA driver. I deployed the Meta.exe install application. Now, after completely corrupting the dynamic link library & registry entries & removing the previously operational CV1 software, a week of wasted time, dead threads, rabbit holes and jargon, all I get is you need to update drivers to use your headset as well as you need "USB 3.0" connections(The Z820 Has 4). Tried to locate the original runtime & platform designed for the CV1 but noticed all conveniently washed from web search. By no means an amateur, I have an Electrical Engineer Background & an currently a corporation owner working with HPC and counterparts within a multi national company in Media Production. All that said, what a complete waste of time/disappointment and failure. -F
