Just like in the title, I can't get my PC to connect to the sensors of the headset through the USBs. I haven't played it in a while and just started it up again... but I can't get passed this sudden problem. Has anyone encountered this before?
- I've used it a lot in the past and nothing has changed
- The USB ports work for everything else. I've even tried the other ones.
- Everything is up to date
- I've unplugged and replugged, restarted the computer, and did things in different orders
- As you can see in the pics below, it says the headset is connected, but the USB can't connect to the sensors of the headset. What am I missing??

There is a bunch of us with the same problem, META have bricked our devices with a software update.
Don't listen to the lies of these community managers they will waste your time with methods they know do not work.

I really appreciate the work you've put into going after them on your end. I've been through the same lengthy headache this year with a car rental. I've read the whole thread of the link oculusness sent me of your thing. It seems obvious that it was intentional of them to keep us from using the Oculus Rift S; likely to make us buy their new models. I'm not sure I can get a refund though. >< Mine was a gift to me. BUT, at least I know now that I can get that oculuskiller thing to at least let me use my Oculus Rift S on other things.

The rest of us might want to know the solution too?! Make the solution public and speak plainly. The whole internet has long known how you treat Rift S customers and that all users have the same problem. Legacy issues are unpleasant, but you bought us as customers too.
And just by the way: I even installed a new SSD yesterday and reinstalled Windows from scratch.
The first thing that happened after installing all the drivers and starting the Meta software was a static noise from the headset and a complete restart of all USB devices.
So the usual thing for the last 4-5 years.
So how does a company come to the conclusion that these customers would buy a newer model from you?
Give us a solution, no blah blah.

The problem is they have NO SOLUTION. I have had to start a small claims action against them in court and since then they are refusing to respond to the technical support tickets I open and i'm having to contact them daily just to log it for my solicitior/lawyer to show the court judge how they have refused to even communicate. I'm going for the full 10 thousand that I can claim in court to cover them damaging my equipment and rending my software useless.
Its the only way to deal with META i'm afraid - in a court of law!

This is all so ridiculous.
I was a developer myself, so I can understand a lot of things and I also pay attention to my system status.
With this Rift S and the same basic system, I spent over 100 hours in Skyrim VR, over 240 hours in Dirt Rally 2, over 50 hours in Dirt Rally 1, 180 hours in elite dangerous and several hours with videos. Everything was 100% error-free. No messages, no crashes, nothing...
At some point there were updates from Meta for the hardware and software and since then it has only gotten worse and the time between the occurrence of the individual headset crashes and USB restarts has now shortened from 30 - 60 minutes to 0–5 minutes. And when it is actually running, the sound is scratchy as soon as it is played at an audible volume. (By the way, mute doesn't help with the crashes etc., just like deactivating the microphone or speakers. A KVM/USB switch with external power supply didn't help either - another 60 Euro, plus the new SSD and the work over the years)
Rift S has become completely unusable.
e: If you look at the article above, from medium (Oculus Rift S: how Oculus bricked thousands of headsets this Christmas), it probably started with version 12 of the software for me too. You can't find any versions older than the current version on the internet. And anyway, it would get a forced update if it wasn't just a web installer that downloads the current version anyway.

its totally beyond ridiculous and their silence on the matter is telling. after all its the entity of garbage known as facebook we are dealing with and court is going to the only resolution to this matter.
At the end of the day they will be paying for my new hardware and I hope it opens the flood gates to other rift users to file a small claims action against them. They seem to think deep pockets is a better way to resolve the issue than fix it or even communicate about it. Where are you community managers? still trying to get people to only talk about it in PM? what a garbage company in so many ways.
