I have fixed it by rolling back my drivers to 23.11 on AMDs website. It is just an error with the most recent drivers.

Hello Athos10117! We would be more than happy to help you get your VR display back to normal. We are excited for you to start using your Rift S again! We would love it if you could make sure that all of your software is up-to-date and that your graphics card drivers are also on the updated version. We would also like to provide you with compatibility requirements here. We can also use a different link cable and see if that corrects the issue. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to us. We are here to help!

Hello, thank you for your response! I am running on an AMD 7800xt with a 5900x processor which I believe is well above the necessary specifications. As I stated above I have updated both my graphics drivers and the rift drivers to the most recent ones.  I do believe it can be something wrong with the cable.

Hi again @Athos10117! Thank you for providing that information as it was very helpful! Just a couple of questions to get a better understanding:

  • Have you used this set up previously?
  • Were you able to try a different link cable?

Also, please check your link cable for any visible damages. Let us know so that we can continue assisting!

I have used this set up before and everything has worked, but I do not have another link cable to try it out as I cannot find anywhere that has replacement cables. In addition the cable doesn’t appear to have any external damages

Thanks for providing those details @Athos10117! After looking at your PC GPU, we see that it is not compatible with our headsets. Don't worry, we'd still like to take a closer look into this and make sure its not another issue that may be causing this! We highly recommend using the Meta Quest Link cable because sometimes other third-party cables can cause our headsets not to work properly.  We do want to clarify what exactly is appearing green, just to make sure your headset itself is not broken! Please provide the details below:

  • What exactly is appearing green? If possible, please provide a screenshot.
  • Does the green display appear when playing in standalone? Or just when using Quest Link?

How is the 7800xt not compatible? Will it ever be compatible? I’ll be able to post a screenshot later, but basically there is no color except for green. Even while not playing a game everything is in a green hue. Since it is a Rift S I can only play with it plugged into the computer and it appears all the time.

Hey again, @Athos10117. We certainly understand. You can get us that screenshot whenever you have the time. Additionally, we wanted to add that while we are always updating our list of compatible GPUs and processors, sometimes a new product will take some time before we open up compatibility for that product. Here you can find a list of our specs for using PCVR. Please check back periodically to see if we have added the 7800xt. We hope this has been helpful for you, and we look forward to hearing from you soon!

I'm having the same issue. I have a RX 7900xt along with a 5900x. I have had the computer for over a year, but there is still no official compatibility for my system. The last driver update for the GPU turned everything green-tinted for the Rift S. There was no issue before this (just a high latency, AMD's issue). I have done the same uninstall and reinstall of drivers and software as @Athos10117 has done.
AMD stated in their "AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 24.1.1 Release Notes" under "Known Issues" that "Oculus Rift S may display with a green tint on AMD Radeon™ RX 7000 series GPUs." with no specified date of fixing.

Here is what the "green-tint" looks like; it is system-wide, including Steam games and the virtual desktop.
