Oculus Rift controllers not working in-game after update

smittyncrew

6/11/2024, allowed Meta Link to update on my PC for my Rift CV1.  Everything still works until I get into a game.  Once I enter the game, the Touch controllers are not detected when moving, and in the game they are at ground level and will not move.  The Oculus button still worked, and I could use the controllers to select quit app, but they will not move while in a game.  So far I re-installed Oculus, but did not delete all the hidden files.  I updated my Nvidea drivers to the latest 555.xx version.

Does anyone have a copy of that previous version to share?

No problem, I’m glad you were able to get into Minecraft again 🙂

Hey Smith, a link to download some files from the previous version along with a guide to set it up is on page 7 of this form.

Maybe I can help and hopefully also receive some help here myself. I may be at least able to narrow this down some.

I have two machines I use for VR and am using an Oculus Rift S.

I noticed my main machine suddenly lost controller haptics for Beat Saber this or last week. I tried all the usual fixes as mentioned above; Changing USB port, reinstalling Beat Saber, -vrmode oculus, replacing batteries, changing Beat Saber version, etc. Nothing helps.

The controller haptics work fine on other games. It's just Beat Saber there's nothing there for.

In the end I tested it was still functioning on my secondary PC and it was fine, so I relocated it and played for an hour or so with no issue.

I went to play the game just a few hours later and was blocked from doing so because the Oculus/Meta software needed to update first. It did, and now that PC is in the same boat too! No haptics in Beat Saber!

So it seems there's definitely an issue with the latest version of the software causing this issue. Is there any way to roll back the 'Meta Quest Link' software to a previous version? The game is unplayable without the feedback as far as I am concerned.

This issue needs to be fixed ASAP.

Yeah I was pitching in so meta gets off their ass and fixes it, but I intended on doing the fix on page 7 and now that I have, I can confirm that it works and I can play every game again. Thanks 8aron, and thanks to the universe that someone actually had a backup version on a Google drive.

Does anyone have a fix for this nonsense or do we have to wait for meta to get off there ass and patch this trash update

It's major ridiculous, Steam vr works well, but unfortunately when the games needs to work through Oculus the controllers doesn't work for jack!! It's very annoying to have the 4 games I want to play on steam, force me to connect through Oculus. And yet the controller is broken to hell.

Yes we all need for you to fix the update that ruined our experience with meta. I get a couple hours for it not to work after the update but we are now a week into this and there is still no patch I've already uninstall games and so forth I shouldnt have to uninstall anything and do a back up. Your company needs to get a patch out for this ASAP just own up and fix your **bleep**up

Figured I would be best off opening my own thread for this. I added it as a comment on someone else's similar issue. but thought it wise to post it separately here too.

I have two machines I use for VR and am using an Oculus Rift S.

I noticed my main machine suddenly lost controller haptics for Beat Saber last week and have been trying all the usual fixes; Changing USB port, reinstalling Beat Saber, -vrmode oculus launch option, replacing batteries, changing Beat Saber version, etc. Nothing helped.

The controller haptics work fine on all other games I have tried - it is only Beat Saber I have found so far that there's just nothing there for.

In the end I tested it was still functioning on my secondary PC and it was indeed fine, so I relocated it and played for over an hour with no issue whatsoever.

I then went to play the game just a few hours later (PC had not even been turned off) and was blocked from playing because the Oculus/Meta software needed to update first. It did that, and now that PC is the same too! No haptics in Beat Saber!

So it seems there's definitely an issue with the latest version of the software (v66) causing this issue. Is there any way to roll back the 'Meta Quest Link' software to a previous version?

The game is currently unplayable without the feedback as far as I am concerned.

If the issue isn't fixed and there's no way to downgrade to a previous version of the software, the headset becomes pretty useless to me, as this game is my primary - if not only - reason for having VR.

This issue needs to be fixed ASAP.

Look forward to hearing from you - happy to help with any diagnostics you need from me.

Thank you,

Samantha
