Update: Hey everyone - This is an issue with our software certification that we're still actively working on. For security, we use a certificate to ensure that the software you receive actually comes from Oculus. That certificate has expired, and we're looking at a few different ways to resolve the issue. Update #2: Hey everyone - We're still working hard to resolve the cert issue. We're in the process of integrating an updated cert. Unfortunately, pushing the update out to affected users has some added complexity, as the expired cert blocks our standard software update path. We're working through the options now, and we expect to have more details to share later this evening.

I'm too lazy to read all 47 pages to see if this was already suggested, but as per update #2, if the only hold up is figuring out how to push it down, why don't they just post the fixed DLL for download from the web site. I think most of us (all of us? lol) can handle downloading a file and copying it to a folder. For those that don't want to do that, they can wait for Oculus to figure out how to push the file, but for the rest of us, we can fix our software now. Just my 2 cents.

No you definitely do not if you are suggesting that a Client application that has your credit card and Pin shouldn't have a Certificate. The nonsensical replies are all on your side of the table.
The fact that you think the credit card and pin are stored in the client side shows how much you know about technology. And to get back on topic, my whole point was that a server connection shouldn't be necessary to play games. But you fixed your mommy's computer last Christmas and now you're technology expert.
unfathomable that they still have not released a fix. going on day 2 now. remember this. ALL RIFT devices are soft-bricked. people are purchasing the rift and thinking its their own fault when it doesn't work. FB should have an ARMY of support technicians scouring reviews and social media posts to try and minimize the damage. but they're not even doing that. FB has a history of not caring for its end-users. This particular event shows.
SO I found workaround this People : Here is the FIX Go ON RUIN : Type Services.msc ---> Go Right Click on Oculus VR library Service right click on that ------> Go ON properties and from there click on startup Type choose Autumatic . Thats how i fixed Mine . Good Luck

That is the problem which is stopped and set by manual the VR services is stopped and you need to make it running by choosing the automatic and that will bypass the certIficate issue - Try it and see what happens
HTC is starting to look a little more appealing with each foul up they produce. Is there only one person running this thing? They must have been asleep before the cert expire kicked off.
