Oculus Screens to the Top-Left

Notshane
Honored Guest
Allow me to elaborate. So, on my Oculus Rift, the screens move to the top-left in some games for some very strange reason. I have yet to find a solid fix for this as nearly every game that can do Extended HMD Mode still display the issue. The only game that fixed itself with Extended HMD Mode was SuperMario64VR. My current theory is that it has something to do with DirectX.

Here is an example of the disoriented screens being displayed on the computer:

The following game, so you can analyze what version of DirectX it uses:

Normally, the screens are centered properly. Every game I run that also displays the screens on my monitor always displays them the same with no problem.

Here is an example of the screens when properly oriented:

My theory of the DirectX being the issue follows with one certain game having am option to use two versions of it, though I do not know which version the first launcher uses as it is not mentioned and I do not know how to check.

The first launcher says "DirectToRift" and the other "DirectToRift_DirectX11" which the other did not show; DirectX speaking. Upon using the latter, both screens look fine; upon using the first, the same problem as slated before.

My theory is that this game must use DirectX10 or earlier on that first launcher and that is why my Oculus is experiencing problems with it. At least, that is my current theory.

Here is the game that had those separate "DirectToRift" options:

I assume other games are running older versions of DirectX and are not compatible with the DK2 as well as the result. Some other examples of this top-left screen orientation issue include: ZeldaVR (Extended HMD Mode), MikulusSchool (DirectToRift) and TekRok - The Gathering Storm (DirectToRift).

Oh, and if you need computer specs to better address the issue, here are my specifics:

OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 955 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.2GHz
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series

With this being said, I await a response. I hope I provided all of the information needed to fix my DK2.

Does Direct Mode work for you? Can you provide the logs from this guide?
