I've tried everything. Absolutely Everything. I recently got an Oculus Rift for graduation and I have been trying to install the setup. It downloads all 5 gigs then says "Installing..." for about a minute or 2. Then it tells me to restart my computer. Before you tell me what everyone else says: -There is no reorder option in regedit for Oculus permissions -I reinstalled Visual C++ -I disabled all antivirus software that I know of, ccleaner, Windows Security essentials, everything that I know of. If there is anything that is hiding that I might not know of, let me know. No, I don't have McAfee. -I installed the latest Windows update -I updated my Nvidia drivers -There is no log file so I can't paste the problem in here -I've tried deleting every file of oculus and reinstalling -I ran the setup as administator
none of these worked. im about to give up, to be honest. I have Windows 7 64bit SP1, AMD FX-8350 8 Core Processor, 16 gigs of RAM, GTX 960
Is Windows fully up to date? Have you considered installing Windows 10?
I updated my Windows 7 completely. I have thought about getting Windows 10 but the price for it is very high. I heard it was free at one point last year but I've stuck with Windows 7 and would rather not have to pay $100+ for Windows 10.
