Oculus Wander Favorites Deleted

Hello,

I’m really hoping someone is able to help me. I had thousands of locations saved as favorites in Wander that are now missing. I had lots of trips with loved ones where I mapped out personally significant locations.

The battery of my headset died while I was renaming a favorite and when I came back to the app everything was gone.

Hey there, @SeanAnthonyGleason. Thank you for reaching out and letting us know that you're missing your favorites in Wander. We know this can be a bit inconvenient when you're playing your VR game, and we would like to lend a hand to help out. For us to get to the root of this, can you tell us if you have done the following?

 

Uninstall and reinstall the game.

To uninstall an app from your Meta Quest headset in-VR:

  1. Press  on your right Touch or Touch Pro controller to pull up your universal menu.
  2. Select .
  3. Find and then hover over the app that you want to uninstall.
  4. Select .
  5. Select Uninstall, then select Uninstall to confirm.

To uninstall the Meta Quest mobile app from your Android phone:

  1. From your phone’s home screen, go to Settings.
  2. Tap Apps.
  3. Scroll down and tap the Meta Quest app, then tap Uninstall.

To uninstall the Meta Quest mobile app from your iPhone:

  1. From your iPhone’s home screen, find the Meta Quest app.
  2. Tap and hold the Meta Quest app until it shakes and is marked with a small X in the top left corner of the app.
  3. Tap X, then tap Delete.

Reboot the headset.

 

Here is how to do this: 

To restart your headset:

  1. With your headset on and powered on, press and hold the power button on the right side of your headset until you see the Power off screen.
  2. Select Restart. Your headset will turn off and then turn back on.

If you're unable to restart your headset:

  1. Press and hold the power button for at least 10 seconds. This will manually turn off your headset.
  2. Wait 30 seconds.
  3. Press and hold the power button until your headset turns back on.

Hello, this did not seem to help - I did have a backup in Oculus cloud from a year ago which brought back some of them, but I lost everything from the past year. There seems to be a bug in Wander that corrupts the entire favorites file if the power is cut while editing.

Hey there, @SeanAnthonyGleason. Thanks for getting back to us! By the sounds of it, and the fact that the troubleshooting isn't helping, we'd recommend submitting a bug report or submitting a ticket on this through the game's website. Hopefully this ends up being useful!

Hi Sean....

I have discovered a similar problem.

I have cerated folders and saved locations in them.

I now find that if I pick any folder, I find some of the locations are blacked out and no longer active

I’m sorry to hear that. This is a separate issue that I have seen as well. My guess is this is because those locations were user added content and Meta has chosen to remove a lot of it. So those locations can no longer be found.
