Oculus doesn’t want to turn on

I have oculus quest 2 and i haven’t used it for about 4 months now. Today i put it on charge and it has been charging for hours but theres still red light and it wont turn on. The charger is not the problem. I held the power button for 10 second then 20 even 30 but still nothing. I even tried the volume and power button but no results. When it turns on for a split second it shows the logo for like 0.5 sec and then turns off or the screen becomes gray for a few seconds and then dies again. I don’t know what to do. I went to factory reset it but the headset isn’t connected to my app which I can’t do because it doesn’t want to turn on.

Hey there, prvc.l! We definitely want for you to be able to enjoy your time in VR, and that is hard to do if  your headset won't turn on! We would recommend trying the following troubleshooting steps to see if they gets things working:

  1. Try a different Cable/Charger; if possible, test the cable and charger (adapter) separately to determine the faulty component.
    • Make sure that the wall adapter can provide at least 10W of power, like the original that came with the headset
  2. Attempt to charge the headset without the facial interface. Some facial interfaces may block the proximity sensor which can impact the power of the headset.

  3. If you are using the Elite Strap with Battery or any third-party accessories that may affect battery charging or consume power (such as external battery packs, external fans, etc.), disconnect the accessories and try charging the headset again.

  4. Try charging for at least two hours from a different Source (another PC or different wall outlet).

Hopefully those steps get things working again. If not, please reach out over a PM and we'll see what we can do going forward.
