Oculus link bug

Waterlok_653
Honored Guest

I just received a cable today to connect my headset to the computer. And when I connect it what I see in the headset bug (Every 0.5 seconds approximately a frame is not well positioned. It could be a few pixels on the screen that the frame is at 90 degrees and completely shifted)v It's not the problem that my computer is not powerful enough because it's just as common when I'm in the menu as in a game. And it's not a problem that the headset sensors are faulty because if I'm not in the link it works very well and I have none of these problems.

When I test the cable with the Oculus application about every other time it tells me that it has failed to start the tests but when it manages to launch them it tells me that there is no problem.

Hey there, @Waterlok_653. Thank you for reaching out and bringing the issue you're having with your new cable to our attention. We know that any sort of issue with a cable connection is less than ideal, and we would like to help you get this resolved. So we can get a bit more insight into this, can you tell us the following?

Is your new cable an Airlink cable or a Quest Link cable?

Can you send us a picture of the error you are seeing?

Are you connecting your USB cable to a USB 3.0 port?

Are you using any adapters or cable extenders being used?

We are looking forward to your reply. If you have any questions, please let us know.

Hi

 Thank you for your reply.

I finally have time to answer you and so I use a USB C to USB A cable. It is a USB 3.1. the cable is plugged into a USB 3 port with the SS10 notation.

And no I don't use USB adaptation to the other.

Here is my error (I recorded my screen then took a photo of one of the problematic frames)

Hey @Waterlok_653! Thank you so much for updating us, and sending that image. We can definitely see how much this would impact your gameplay experience, so we want to make sure we troubleshoot and assist you as much as possible.

We do have a few more questions for clarification:

  • Did you purchase this cable on our Meta store or through another retailer?
  • Just so we are not going over anything you have already tried, what troubleshooting steps have you already attempted?
  • Are there any loose frays at the cable ports?
  • Do you notice any kinks, bends, or external damage on the Quest link?

Thank you so much for your extended patience through this process.

Firstly this cable is not an official cable sold by oculus. This is a 5m USB C cable that has USB 3 and is new. I have already tried updating the USB port drivers to change settings so that the Oculus application has a higher priority on the processor. I tried several updated USB graphics driver ports. I think that's about all I've tried.

Hey! Thank you for updating us on this!
