Oculus move data lost

Downgrading from the PTC firmware to the public build to troubleshoot, this triggered a factory reset and I have lost all my move history. Is there any way to get this back, I have 3 years worth of data on there?

Cloud backup page says Move does not backup to the cloud.

The same happened to me when I did a factory reset. I only lost maybe up to 10 months so I didn't really care.

I am curious if there is a way to recover the data.

Howdy there, @J40NYR! This is not something we want to hear since we understand how worrying it could be for our users. If you perform a factory reset on the headset and do not have the Cloud backup enabled, you'll be unable to retrieve any data from the apps. Games are actually fine and cloud saving was enabled. It is just oculus move that I can't retrieve my history on

Hello there! While all app developers have access to cloud backup, it is up to the developers to decide whether to enable this functionality for their app and what data is backed up. We'll leave the steps here so you can see which apps have this capability.

 

  1. Go to your Oculus account profile page on a computer.
  2. From the left menu, click Cloud Backup.
  3. Use the search field to filter for any specific application, or scroll through the table to view which of your applications have Cloud Backup enabled.
