Oculus quest 2 setup without controller

applemorshed

I brought an oculus quest 2 used from eBay. which come without the controller.

so I try to set up Oculus quest 2. I download the mobile app and follow the instruction.  because I don't have a controller, the initial setup screen did not allow me to pass the initial setup screen without pairing the controller. so I active the developer option and connect through ADB (platform tools). I search online and find something like

adb -s {device_id} shell getprop

and I get all the list of properties.

Can anybody tell me which value I need to modify or need to add the system properties so that the oculus thing/understannd that the initial controller setup is done. I already set up xbox controller as well.

because there is a hand tracking option so I want to use the hand tracking option I think I can activate it by using a mouse.

Note: Nybies please don't reply.  this section is only if you are an expert and know-how to work with ADB and shell and android. Don't ask me why I don't buy the controller because it is not available and I want to set up the device without it.

if you want then I can add the properties list here later.

do you have any suggestions for setup an oculus without a controller?

Hi! I recommend getting connected with the Developer Support as they can get you back on track. Just click here and make sure you're connected with your developer account.

We are all mad here.

I was able to get past the control settings screen with a simple method. But this only works to play on PC, since I have not found a way to activate hand tracking

Did you have any luck with this?

You must have an Iphone yes or yes, since in android it did not work for me.

Download the development hub, register, start it.

on the Iphone download the oculus app and configure it with your quest2 to where it no longer lets you continue configuring by controls.

in this point. go to the quest2 configuration in the iphone app and in the part where it says advance option activate the developer mode.

now connect the quest2 to the pc and configure them in the development hub. (Confirm this. And confirm you always want to grant the Mac/PC access.)

(in quest2 you may also have to confirm it)

at this point you should already see the quest2 in the development hub.

and here is the simple step you must take to make them work on the pc.

click on AIRLInk and that's it. just open the oculus app, minimize it and you can play any steam game.

I'm sorry if it is not very understandable, I used the translator to write since my language is Spanish.

Airlink did not work for me. The headset continues to show the intro screen with controller setup after I did everything mentioned. Also, Do you connect the headset with a cable or wireless to the PC? Thanks!

With cable. You have to activate the developer mode through the oculus app on the iphone (connect the quest 2 to the cell phone) via bluetooth or wifi, and keep it connected to the pc at the same time, then follow the other steps.

With named Driver4VR, you can use your hands as a controller

Thanks! I was finally able to get into the oculus menu living room screen. I currently have my Xbox controller synced and working as well. How can I play F1-22 now in VR?
When opened in vr mode on steam it cannot detect the headset. I loaded F1-22 onto the oculus app & While wearing the headset- I will access the oculus app, select F1-22 and my screen remains black but I can hear the game sounds. It also starts the game on my monitors and says vr cannot be detected.
when I try to launch F1-22 from the desktop oculus app is says something along the lines of- the device is not working properly because the controls are not yet set up.
im starting to think it’s impossible to use this headset to play pc games without having the controllers for the initial set up…: please let me know if you have any other ideas. Thanks

Yes, you can play.

i play acc, assetto corsa, raceroom, and f1 22.

did you download steamvr?
