I am having an annoying sound issue with my oculus quest 2. The audio content was completely distorted and people’s voice become low tone like the fake/ masked hacker noise you hear in the movies. And there is a static noise comes with it. I tried play sound with different headphones as well as the oculus native speaker and this issue won’t go away.

  • Does this only happen on the default Quest 2 speakers?

Hey Daniel! We totally understand having the sound glitch out on your headset is concerning and it's strange you're having an issue with your sound. If you say it's happening both on your Quest 2 and on a separate pair of headphones it might not be the Quest 2 though. We'd suggest you check your wifi connection and make sure there's no connection issues either wired or wireless. Let us know if the issue gets solved or if you need more assistance from us!

I am having the same issue with my Meta Quest 2 recently after I updated my Meta Browser. When I watch a movie with the browser, the sound of the movie gets distorted after 5 minutes, if I switch to another page and come back again it would be normal for another 5 minutes....  I highly suspect this is the issue with the browser.......

My issue is garbled voice. I’m tired of having to raise my controller to ear to hear someone. How to I fix it so that I hear everyone?

I thought this sound distortion was by design because I only experience the issue when I play non-copy right protection movies via a browser…

Hi there @mylo_00! We understand you are experiencing some issues with sound while using your Quest 2. We'd love to assist you as best we can so you can jump back into the world of VR! Hey there,

Yes, I've tried the steps including factory resetting, updating to the latest version, etc.

It started off well until a few months ago after an explorer version upgrade, the issue began appearing. It could be temporarily fixed by switching to another explorer page such as YouTube or a new page, and about 2 minutes later the issue reappeared, then I had to do another page switch.

A few weeks ago, it got worse as the page switch workaround no longer worked. It used to be that when switching to a YouTube page, the film sound stopped and the YouTube sound started (only one page could have sound). Now, or most recently, there is one sound per page (two sounds), and the film sound is permanently distorted.

I'm happy to provide more information to get this solved and enjoy the VR world more.
