Oculus sensor disconnects are back?

I have just noticed my Oculus sensor disconnects are back and it happening every 20 to 60 seconds. Whats are Oculus doing to fix the issues with Usb disconnect problems? This problem has gone on for months now without a proper fix.

Mine for the first time yesterday disconnected numerous times whilst sitting on my desk with home open and the rift off. Never did that before. Works fine with zero disconnects with rift on.

Mine disconnects with Home closed and the head set put to one side. This is what happened before they were supposed to of fixed it. Now it's back again and given the amount of time this device has been out, Oculus really does need to get it's act together regarding Usb disconnects. The CV1 has been plagued by Usb disconnects since it launched.

It's strange that we've been still unable to reproduce this problem consistently. Please upload your LogGatherer log files, maybe that will have some clue.

I sent all this info in before CyberReality along with other people who reported the issue. The problem is if Oculus can't reproduce the problem consistently then who can? Nobody but Oculus can fix this and they have had usb problems for months now. This forum was littered with usb problems not so long ago and I wonder if people like myself are just trying to live with this issue.

Ive simply just quit using it or buying new stuff for it. Ill get 5-10 minutes into a game or movie then bam, everything disconnects or one or the other. Very annoying and expensive paperweight it has become.

I just bought my oculus brand new two days ago. I have had NOTHING but problems with sensor and headset disconnects. I have tried multiple machines. Both of my gaming rigs use a z97 chipset, both have intel usb3 controllers. I now have the headset and sensor on USB2 and it seems to be working fine. I have the latest official drivers for all hardware, I have had zero problems with any other hardware or software on these two computers. Windows 10 x64

Started having problems last night all of a sudden. I can live with alerts about sensor disconnects, as long as they don't boot me out of a game. Since last night I can go 5 minutes and then the alerts take me back to Home.

The maddening curse is that the problem is very erratic and of all the million workarounds I have read none guarantees success.

Leads me to think that if you try to fix it with a million different tweaks at some time the problem will go away by itself but you will think that the last tweak you did is the reason it went away. Could just be coincidence...

The real question is whether you should keep the rift or return it as the future is very uncertain: mine worked totally fine and last night big surprise it does not work anymore. After the return period is over you might at any time get stuck with a very costly paperweight...

Glad I'm not the only one with this issue. Had my Oculus CV1 about 2 weeks now constant Sensor, then HMD disconnects.  I even tried reinstalled Windows 10 but still the same problem.

I have been in contact with Oculus support for about a week now, currently on hold.

At one point I did find a sort-of-stable solution. I connected my HMD to a USB 2.0 and my Sensor I connect that to the Xbox One Extension cable and plugged that into my USB 3.0 (yes, in the Store/Devices it showed as 2.0 (?) but it was somewhat stable.

I sent this information to Oculus support and they said "No" it needs to be a direct link to USB 3.0.
I did as they suggested and was back to constant disconnects.

Another problem I had was... Both my USB 3.0 Ports are on the front of my PC, so the HMD cable would not reach the 2nd USB 3.0. Again Oculus suggested I get a HDMI extender cable which would allow me to use the front USB 3.0.
I did this and the problem went from bad to worse, I was getting constant disconnects every 2-3 secs, no matter what I was doing.

Last night I re-booted up my PC and reset my bios settings back to default. I managed to plug in the HMD and Sensor ok without any problems. I left my PC recording all night and I didn't get one disconnect. About 30 mins ago I decided to try a VR game, as soon as I started the game my disconnects we're back.

It's annoying having friends round wanting to experience it, but having to tell them it's not working right and the experience would not be sub-par.

A friend of mine is a genius when it comes to PC's and software development, I've sent him screenshots of my disconnect error messages. I'll update if I get any joy.

A frustrated Oculus newbie.
