Oculus touch trigger broken after one evening

My right trigger button is stuck, I can pull it back out with my finger nail but when I press it back it just jams back in.

Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

I received my Touch controllers today. While I can't test them out because I have no Rift, still waiting on that RMA. I can say I thought the triggers felt pretty cheap. Not surprised to read this.

I think you are mistaking low resistance with cheap. The triggers have low resistance I'm guessing because they expect them to be held down for long periods and often.

definition of insanity is NOT "doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.". Urban Myth/overused cliche (I'm assuming this is what you are referring to)
It's actually: extreme foolishness or irrationality

My right trigger stuck today. Used a piece of thin cardboard (from a paper roll)  and worked it right around the trigger until I found the blockage and pushed it in, now is back to being fine. There is a rubber grommet that comes off inside.
You could use a thin strip of plastic also.
Lets see how long it takes for the left to stick...

As defined by ae it is.

There are many others like it, but this is mine.

I've purchased Touch controllers and the R controller trigger button got stuck like the rest of the people on this thread. I bought the Touch in US and have now moved to NZ ( I move a lot for work which happens to be in the AR/VR industry ironically) and Oculus support informed me I had to pay to ship the defective product to US. This rivaled the cost of the actual product itself. Oculus insisted they would not help pay for the shipping of their own shoddy product.

I've only started using the Touch since Robo Recall came out, which means in a matter of a few weeks the controller broke. The fact I have to pay to ship a defective product is absurd. They offered me a refund of the Touch, as if I should be grateful. Sorry that I'm not thankful that I have to pay for shipping across the world to get a refund of a broken product. After days of emails of getting no where, I've given up on the Oculus. The poor level of quality of the Touch hardware as well as the poor customer service had soured things.

Let me just add I have a Neo Geo controller that is probably YEARS old with many Street Fighter button jamming under it's belt that still work.  It costed about a quarter of the Touch. Great job Oculus.

Got yet another email today saying:

"Thanks for reaching out to Oculus Support.

We sincerely apologize that we have not yet had time to review your case.

At this time, we have a larger volume of tickets than usual. Your ticket will be handled in the order it was received.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding."

Well, that's rubbish,  I've already had two previous replies saying they are looking into it and now it's like they're saying I've just emailed them for the first time regarding this issue and I'll be put in a queue.

I just got my Oculus and touch controllers a few days ago.  Today the right trigger is stuck in.  Like you I started a ticket with oculus.  I provided them the video and photos.  They said the need time to review.  I'm wondering how your case turned out.  I still have time to just return oculus to the store but thought speaking with oculus would be the best way to handle.

Yes I too am having an issue.  I picked up my controllers after sitting overnight. I play often, and I was so excited to play Mage's Tale again, but my left trigger finger is thudding in place and will only come out with effort like some mechanic has given out.  Boo 😞

About 4 hours of light adult use on my touch controllers and the right trigger stopped working.. it sticks down.

Just got my Rift-Touch, less than a week ago. Bought Space Pirate Trainer today and started playing and now the right trigger button is sticking. Now I see this thread, what a bummer.

I'm not going to try and open the touch and try and fix it but I did open a support ticket.

So after 4 days of back and forth with my ticket I'm returning the complete package to Best Buy, where I bought it.

Oculus did finally say they would replace the defective touch controller, but gave me rather detailed instructions on how to send it back. I have no printer, no way of printing out a shipping label, and instead of mailing me one they expect me to go somewhere that will print the label for me. At my expense. And of course I wouldn't get the replacement until they got the bad controller back. So weeks or more without.

This was a brand new package deal (Headset, sensors, controllers, and Marvel game) and the controller failed after just two days. Not to mention this thread will prove this has been a problem for several years now. Maybe not everyone has experienced it but nothing has been done to make sure it doesn't.

I feel like the fair thing to do would be to send me the replacement with a return label inside and upon receipt I would send in the bad controller. At the very least, offer to send me a shipping label in the mail. Since they wouldn't do that, the whole thing goes back for a full refund.

The kicker was when I called Best Buy and asked about returning the $423.84 with tax purchase they said no problem, I could exchange it for another. When I told them why I wasn't interested in an exchange and preferred a refund, that I wasn't willing to take a chance on another lemon, they understood and in fact had heard of the very same problem on "maybe one out of two". Well that's 50% from this particular store, that's a pretty bad failure rate I'd say. Especially considering how long this has been a known issue.
