OculusDash.exe - very high GPU usage?

Mr_Sukebe

Hi,

I was sanity checking some performance issues and couldn't help but notice that task manager is showing very high GPU usage for OculusDash.exe (see attached pic).

I'm not talking VRAM usage of my GPU, rather resource usage which is hovering around 80%,

UI

For reference:

 - PC has been just booted from cold

 - I'm running an i5 9700 with Nvidia 3080ti

 - This is with my Meta Quest Pro connected via link cable

 - I'm browsing my desktop, NOT running an games or other apps with performance requirements

Thoughts?  That doesn't look right to me.

Hey there @Mr_Sukebe. Thank you for reaching out to us about this in order for us to move forward in the right direction we just need to ask the following:

  • When did this start happen? and how long has this been happening for?
  • Are the drivers up to date for the GPU
  • Are there any start-up programs running when booting up the system? as this may also be the cause for the resource usage on your GPU
  • Do you have the interactive background active or anything else running in the background?

We look forward to hearing your answer's as this will help us get a better understanding on how to proceed.

Hi and thanks for the response.

Sorry, I've only just noticed it, so I don't know how long it's being ongoing.

Yes, I'm running the latest Nvidia drivers (555.85).

I've deliberately pruned down "fluff" booting up on start up, so there's nothing untoward, and as mentioned, this is from a cold start.

My background in VR is empty, i.e. deliberately minimised, so all I'm seeing right now is a square mesh.

Do let me know if any screenshots or similar will help.

Thank you for giving us those details. So what we are going to do is invite you over to a PM, as we will need to collect some private information from you in order to collect your logs and take a deeper dive into this for you.
