OculusVR.exe waking PC up

Hey guys,

I noticed that my PC keeps getting wakedup since I own the Rift. I checked in cmd with the command "powercfg lastwake" to find out what's the source for the wakeup and it showed me the OculusVR.exe. How can I prevent the application to wakeup my PC?

I've never even seen the point in "sleep". Unnecessary. Your processor already down clocks and down volts at idle.
Why not just disable hybernation?

Because my PC burns at least 100 watts less while asleep, the fans switch off, the hard drives switch off, the accessories switch off and all it does is take 5 seconds to wake up.

So you save 5 cents a year and put more stress on components making them go to sleep/ speed back up/go to sleep.

Yes, it costs 3 cents of horrible stress and trauma on the poor abused computer components from the extra power cycles But at 16 hours a day spend on sleep that's $163/year worth of electricity saved.

Meh..suppose you're right lol. Never bothered personally though, and every time I see it cause issues I think"...just disable hybernation".

Mine will go to sleep fine.  It just keeps waking up at some random time afterwards.  TOnight though I'll try killing Home through task manager and see if that does it.  I'm skeptical it would, though since nothing is actively running when it's asleep.  I think it's something like the HMD on the USB port waking it up.  I've tried moving the HMD to see if that did it, but no.  Hmmm, what I haven't tried though is covering the face sensor to try turning the HMD on.

Have you considered turning off Wake Timers in your Windows power plan? I do this because I do not want my computer waking itself up from sleep for any reason. This should prevent the OculusVR.exe program from waking your computer.

1. Go to your Power Options control panel.
2. Click on "Change plan settings" beside your active power plan.
3. Go to Sleep -> Allow Wake Timers and set to Disabled beside "Plugged in."

That should fix it.

FWIW I haven't had this problem in a while, I'm guessing it was fixed in one of the newer runtimes or perhaps in the NVIDIA drivers.
