On-Screen Keyboard blank

Anonymous
Not applicable
When I open the keyboard, I just get a blank keyboard sized window. (no orange exclamation mark, just blank.)
Here's a screen grab using Oculus Mirror.

Steps I've taken to try fixing:

  • Fresh install of latest nvidia drivers (390.77)

  • uninstalled nvidia drivers and installed drivers 388.59

  • repairing Oculus software through the installer

  • tried ending the windows onscreen keyboard process from task manager and opening it from start menu - does nothing when in vr.

  • checked the primary monitor in nvidia control panel

  • tried rearranging the displays in windows display settings and nvidia control panel by dragging them around into different layouts, but it always reverts back to the diagonal layout.

Pinning windows and all other features seem to be working, I just don't get a working on-screen keyboard

Are you using custom DPI scaling in Windows?

Dash virtual desktop & keyboard are pretty much non-functional for me for that reason.

Scale is set to 100% in windows display settings
fyi I'm on Windows 10 Home N, Version 10.0.16299 Build 16299 + Media Feature Pack (KB4039813)
The keyboard used to work for me before, this is a fairly new development.

I was having issues with the on screen keyboard the buttons were scaled wrong... could only see the second row and other times only the tab key.  I ended up going into the registry and deleting all of the entries under the following location
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Osk
after that the keyboard worked perfectly so far.
