Only possible to send game app referral links for Metaquest+ games

Hello,

I would like to send game app referall links tot my friends, but my mobile app only allows me to send Metaquest+ game referral links. 
My friend who has no Metaquest+ can choose between Device referral and game apps. The second option somehow switched/dissapeared in my Meta Horizon mobile app.
I already tried to delete it and reinstal but that didn't work.
Clivking on the app in my library and selecting the three dots also doesn't give me the option to create a referral link.
Please help!

Hey there, @Jagopago! We certainly understand wanting to get your friend's to join in on the VR experience by referring some apps to them. There are two different ways to send a referral that are listed below.

Send a referral link from the Meta Horizon mobile app

  1. Open the Meta Horizon mobile app
  2. Tap the Avatar icon at the bottom of the screen
  3. Tap the Menu icon in the top right of the screen
  4. Scroll down the Menu to the Payment and subscriptions section
  5. Select Referrals
  6. Tap App Referrals to see the apps eligible for app referral.

Send a referral link from the headset

  1. Press the Meta.png or oculus.png on the right controller to pull up the universal menu.
  2. Select App Library from the universal menu.
  3. In the Library, select the app you want to refer.
  4. Select the elipsis (...).
  5. Select See details, then select the elipsis (...).
  6. Select Share referral link, then select Share.
  7. Select either Chats, WhatsApp, Messenger, or Facebook.
  8. Next to the person with whom you would like to share the referral link, select Send.

I did all of that already.

- I followed all the steps in the app and under referrals (the diamond icon) I can only select referral for my device or Metaquest+ subscription. No app referral possible.

- Headset says I have no apps available for referral eventhough I have easily more than 20 (all over 10 dollar)

I saw other people mentioning the same problem on the forum so maybe it's a bug?

Thanks for getting back to us. With the application it may meet the other requirements; however, with the referral, it would require owning the application through purchasing. With the subscription, this would provide access to the games; however, it would not qualify for the referral since it is not owned. We hope this helps clarify, and have a wonderful day!

Hello,

once again: I just want to send referral links FOR MY OWN PURCHASED APPS, NOT for Metaquest+ games.
Headset even says I have no purchased eligible apps for referral over 10$ but I own at least more than 20 applications (purchased by myself) worth much more. 
No referral possible in the mobile app, not in the headset. In the past I already did it once, so it was possible, but now not anymore. I updated mobile app and headset, I uninstalled the mobile app and installed it again as well.
Both don't allow me to send referral links for my own purchased games. 
I hope my problem is finally more clear now, thank you very much for the help.

I have many subscribers having this issue as well.

Even a video showing the missing app referral page.

@Jagopago what region are you from? I’m curious if it’s a region lock issue.

Hi,

I'm from Belgium. Where are you and your subscribers from?
When I was looking online for a solution I did find two people mentioning the same problem (I think on this forum somewhere) but without solution.

The friend I wanted to send the referral links to, she is also from Belgium but can send referral links herself so doesn't seem to be a regional problem (since we have such a small country).
I have the free Metaquest+ subscription for 6 months that came with the purchase of the Quest 3. No idea of that might be causing the problem. 
I also send a private message as Metaquestsupport as they are mentioning in the last reply. They asked for my info and I added screenshots of my mobile app and the headset showing the problem. 
I hope they are aware that it's not just an isolated problem but shows up frequently. Many people affected probably don't even realise it if they don't try to send referral links (often).

@MetaQuestSupport Can you please confirm you have read this post and have taken notice of the fact that this is an issue that shows up with much more people? It might be some kind of bug in the system?

Hi Meta,

very nice you want to help me through the personal message system, but I would appreciate it if the persons answering me there would actually read what I'm writing. I spell everything out, add screenshots (and translations) and still the 'solutions' and answers are all about different problems. 

And the last answer is even more stunning and weird:

"Thanks for your patience, we are evaluating changes to the App referrals program. As a result, some randomly selected groups of users may periodically not be able to access App referrals. 

These user groups change frequently, and if an offer is not currently available to you that is available to others, this means that offer is not being given to your group at this time."

So me and the other people experiencing it are just part of an experiment??? How long is this crazy and frustrating experiment going to take? I found posts with complaints dated at least two weeks ago. 

If you really want to experiment with temporary stuff, please don't take away a service that normally is available all the time. Experiment with temporary offers instead since that's your goal, makes more sense, no?

 

Or is this another lazy answer from someone not understanding what I'm talking about? Can you please verify this and answer here so other people with the same problem can learn they are also part of this stupid experiment? 

Sorry for my language but I'm getting more and more frustrated 😖
