Over half the display on the Quest 2 is delayed with your head movement in PCVR.

When playing PCVR, the display on the 2 eyes will desync in games, causing the right eye and a bit of the left eye to be delayed with your head movements. As you can guess, this is really nauseating and makes VR unenjoyable. The delay happens in both eyes in the Oculus Dashboard. I have so far only tested this with Blade & Sorcery, and it seems to happen a few minutes in, by itself. However, you can consistently trigger this delay by opening the Dashboard while in a game. I have tried factory resetting the Quest, updating my graphics drivers, limiting the encode bitrate to 300, and lowering the advanced graphics settings in the Meta PC App. None of this has worked.

Just in case, my specs are:

AMD Ryzen 5 7600X 6-Core Processor (CPU)

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti (GPU)

32 GB Memory

It also seems this user on the Oculus Quest subreddit was having the same issue.

Hello, I still do need assistance. The problem was fixed, but it seems the fix was temporary, as after I loaded into a larger than average area in the game, it started happening again. I will try this with other games and see if the same problem occurs.

Hi there, @DUBSTEPUG! We'd like your experience in the PCVR world to run as smooth as possible, so we're eager to assist further with this delay in your headset's display. Moving forward, could you please clarify the following details so we can have a clearer picture of this situation?:

  • Is Blade & Sorcery the only game that this is happening in? (You can try a free game from the Meta Store to test this if possible.)
  • Have you ever been able to successfully and consistently connect Meta Quest Link in the past?
  • What specific cable are you using for this connection? Where was it purchased from?
